  1. Jus-A-CMax, unfortunately animated gifs are not my thing. I do well enough just to work with MS Paint. :) I love your idea though! With the C-Max badge you can get from the Ford website (like the one you have at the top of page one of this post), just add the animation below that and it could be golden. Anybody out there with some know-how want to take a crack at it?
  2. To fotomoto, rmcmast, StoBro2 and davidwitham, congratulations and welcome to the club! It's starting to get a little crowded in here... :woot: And fotomoto, now that you are a member and have more clout, how does this strike you (and everyone else for that matter) as a member badge? Come on, guys and gals, I can't be the only one working on this! Let's see some more ideas put forth. We all need to be proud of our accomplishments and our C-Maxes!
  3. First of all, to answer Jus-A-CMax's request... 1. Model: Hybrid SE, no panoramic roof 2. Tire Pressure: Still at factory settings, haven't tinkered with it (yet) 3. Gas used: Regular Unleaded E10 4. Bone stock, no aero mods (yet) Now, on to other points at hand...I did a little more digging around on the website and finally figured out how to do attachments. Now that I'm done being a dork  what do all of you 600 Mile Club members think of this for a badge? It's simple, yet classic...of course, as the creator, I might be just a little bit biased...so much I even put it in my sig file. ;) Let me know your thoughts.
  4. I have an idea for a 600 Mile Club badge that I've put together as a .jpeg in Paint, but I can't get it to post here. Can't get it to show up in my signature either. What am I doing wrong? Even geeks need technical assistance sometimes...
  5. @ Recumpence: That is awesome! Way to go! :worship: (sigh) Now I'VE gotta try to do it too... Seriously though, great job! :salute:
  6. It is an honor to be a member of this very prestigious club. I figured that at some point during my ownership of Maxwell I would get there. Never dreamed it would be only four months after buying the car! Each and every one of us needs to do whatever is necessary to get the word out on how well the C-Max can perform. Actually, as my wife and I were going into a restaurant for lunch a couple of weeks ago, a younger man who had just come out and gotten into his own car rolled down his window and stopped us. He asked me how the C-Max was doing on mileage, and I told him that if you drive it properly, you can get the 47 MPG easily (at that point my average was 47.5). He then told us he had close to 160,000 miles on his own car and was looking for a replacement. We both told him to go test drive a C-Max and give it a shot, and the odds are he'd be as impressed with it as I was. He told us he would do just that, then started his car and drove off. Did I mention he was in a Toyota Prius? :hysterical: Again, glad to be here, now Max and I are on for the 700 Mile Club! My wife says that's the only 700 Club I'm allowed to join. :) Cheers!
  7. Hey hey hey, you can add one more member to the 600 Mile Club, I finally did it! :happy feet: Still showed 8 miles to empty...could have pushed a little farther but my wife was with me and she was freaking out. She said I was crazy...yup, crazy about gas mileage! :) This is the nearly 90 miles I drove to finish off the tank, all highway miles by the way! And to all the naysayers out there (especially you, Consumer Retorts!) who whine and complain that the C-Max doesn't get anywhere near the 47 MPG Ford says it does, I will simply say you can kiss where I can't, and I ain't talking about my elbow... ;) By the way, did I mention I LOVE my C-Max??? :wub2:
  8. Okay, mtb9153, this is just for you... _\\// Peace and long life. Geez, I am SUCH a geek.
  9. Dman, as far as the needing interior room issue I understand perfectly. I'm 6' 3" as well and have back problems, so low-slung vehicles are out for me. My C-Max still amazes me with the space it provides inside and I am extremely comfortable driving it. As far as gas mileage, I'll just go with the old "your mileage may vary", but the few times that the weather has been nice in central IN lately I've gotten over 50 MPG out of my Max. Plus, I have a lot of fun talking about my car to people who ask me, "What is that car? I've never seen one before!" They usually walk away impressed, and I always tell them to go online and check out the information. I'm trying to get the word out! :)

    Rattles

Not a rattle, but mine has an intermittent squeak coming from around the ambient lighting / sunglasses holder area. If I push up on the headliner it goes away. The sound occurs even when the glasses holder is empty. I'm debating how brave I want to be and see if I can pop that entire plastic section out and check for something loose.
  11. With any luck, the supervisor will be assimilated into the C-Max collective!
  12. When I was first looking at getting a new vehicle last year, I was originally set on getting a 2013 Focus hatchback. I had all the options spec'ed out and knew exactly what I wanted on options. The first part of November my wife and I made plans to get with a couple of friends of ours and do some test driving at the local dealership. I wanted something that all four of us could ride in comfortably and something that I could get in and out of easily. I have a medical condition that keeps the muscles in my lower back and legs tensed up all the time, so something low-slung was NOT an option. The night before we went for the test drive I saw the dealership had a new C-Max in stock, and having never driven a hybrid or a car with a CVT, I was kinda curious what it would be like. We actually ended up testing the C-Max first and, to my utter amazement, it completely knocked my socks off. The room, the power, standard SYNC and dual-zone climate control...it was everything I wanted. The MPG was just an added bonus. My wife and I switched places so she could drive it back to the dealership, and she was just as impressed as I was. I drove the Focus after we got out of the C-Max and it wasn't nearly as nice. So, long story short, I'm now behind the wheel of a Tux Black C-Max, and loving it!
  13. When I got my C-Max two months ago I assumed that everyone else would refer to theirs as "Max". Needing to be at least a little bit different, I dubbed mine "Maxwell". I've also referred to mine as "Max Headroom", as I am 6' 3" and have PLENTY of room in the driver's seat (and I'm also a child of the '80s as well :yahoo: ).
