My 2018 titanium is now suffering from similarly bad strut braces that are now clunking. Just had both replaced on our 2017 energi cmax and now our 2018 is suffering the same. This is annoying because I thought FORD has upgraded this part a couple years ago.
Ugh,

Never seen that on my 2016. Did it stay on forever or eventually turn off?
After hitting the start/stop button several times, it eventually all faded to black.

2018 hybrid with ~10,000 miles on it.
Odd thing last night when parking - hit the start-OFF button to shut down and the usual interior lighting slowly faded, but the large center touchscreen display stayed illuminated in "dirty gray".
Took a couple on/off cycles to get the car to fade everything to black, but never seen that before. Anyone seen that or know what that's all about???
Thanks!

2018 titanium cmax and noticed, since new, the rear tires roar more than I'm used to, making me think the bearings are going bad prematurely. Hopefully, just tire noise, but will see if anything changes after I rotate the tires. Currently @ 8,000 miles and about to do an oil/filter change and tire rotation.

Is everyone buying the Ford coolant? Mine is down a little now to where I need to add some. 60K miles
Thx
It was way more than I needed, but yeah, I went ahead and bought a gallon of Ford's prediluted coolant from Amazon. I figure every couple years I'll siphon out and replace the inverter coolant to make use of some of the excess.
Another option would be if you were getting warranty work or a tire rotation or... (with a ford dealer service coupon of course), ask them to top all fluids while there.

Thanks for the replies! Will experiment with it a little bit.

2018 titanium with heated seats.
Looking for recommendations for getting adequate heat from the blower. I use the auto AC without issue, but wonder how folks handle their best heating/defrosting...
Does "auto" work well for heat settings? Or is it better to manually select heat temperature (70F? 74F? or...???F). Heated seats help but won't be enough soon...which I'm sure will only drop gas mileage
Thanks!

2018 titanium with ~ 3,000 miles.
Using the auto AC - it seems wholly inaccurate, meaning not cold enough to reflect the setting. At 71F auto setting, it doesn't cool well. Yesterday, I tried max AC for the first time and surprisingly, it feels cool, but not cold. Anyone else seeing inaccurate readings with theirs?
Today on the drive home, I'll be using a temperature probe in the vents to measure actual F-temp output and report back tomorrow.

2018 titanium. Noticing, especially on the highway, that the car tends to drift within lanes. This reminds me of older car behavior when steering was much less precise. I do run tire pressure high around 48 PSI, but my other vehicles (including another cmax), also with higher PSIs, do not exhibit this behavior. While it's not as extreme as in older cars, it is noticeable.
Anyone else notice slight drifting with their cmax?
Thanks!

FYI...Ford recalling some 2011 - 2015 plug-ins due to cord-catching-fire issues:

Easy recall. Exchange your charging cable. Done.

In case anyone is looking for better all weather mats, after googling and finding many sellers, found YitaWalmart selling their decent Yita mats for about $40 cheaper than most others ($80 versus $120+). Of course I haven't installed them yet, but they're supposed to fit and look to be comparable to weathertech for a lot less $$$

Our 2018 is very quiet overall - better than we expected for the price. Although yesterday with both rear windows cracked open for ventilation there as a "buffeting" / drumming sound that was unbearable until I closed one of the rear windows. It almost sounded like it was being amplified, too. Our other cars are more tolerant of having rear windows down a few inches.
In the interest of better mileage via better wind resistance, seems newer cars suffer from buffeting more and more. Not sure if rain guards would help reduce that, but it might.

Sometimes the noise cancellation system gets confused. Might want to try disabling it.
Thanks! Will check it out.

For me, doing 15-20mpg better than my previous vehicle is a huge personal victory. That, and because I don't burn any extra fuel while being stopped in traffic makes me happier for some weird reason. So far, I'm averaging 45.9 mpg for my weekly commuting. Not sure I'll be able to do much better, but we'll see.

new 2018 titanium.
Compared to our 2017, I'm noticing more general interior "ambient" noise, as in general "humming" and even wind noise at highway speeds (best description may be similar to common airplane cabin noise at altitude).
Car has michelin energy tires which may be contributing. There's also a rear external humming noise which sounds like either wheel bearing(s) or tire slap noise. Compared to our 2017 which is much quieter, I'd swear ford has seemingly decreased the material-quality used for this last model year (or I'm simply delusional).
I've actually ordered some sound deadening mats to lay across the rear of the cabin to see if that will help absorb interior noise.
Anyone else have 2018 vs earlier model comparison to share?
Thanks!

I still have those on my minivan. They're average all around tires (decent wear and mileage, but not "wow"). While our van recommends 35-38 psi, I pump it around 44 psi year-round.

Interesting that it wouldn't "populate" it when only searching on 0w20...but would readily link to 5w20 (which used to be the cmax standard).
Greg
Better though is that on Amazon, it says the 0w20 "does not fit your cmax..." Interesting, although it does.

Amazon? Search "MOTORCRAFT-XO0W20QSP-SAE-0W-20-GF-5" and you'll find it.

Where can 0w20 motorcraft oil be purchased? I remember seeing it available ~ 1 year ago, but now even on amazon and online, only 5w20 is available. Interesting 0w20 is so rare since the cmax manual recommends it specifically. I'm ok using full sythetic brands, but prefer to try motorcraft's blend (if it's even available!).
Thanks,

Greg this isn't True, the CVT is covered by the Hybrid Warranty and many of us have had our trans replaced for Free. I had 98k miles when replaced. :)
Paul
Not the information I was provided, but happy to be wrong about that! Thanks!

The hybrid components are 8/100,000 but the normal drivetrain (e.g., CVT) is only 5/60,000. I'd still ask FORD and/or your dealer for assistance. Doesn't always work, but worth the asking.

Added a couple ounces of distilled water to bring both coolant levels to max and ordered ford prediluted coolant to have on hand should more be needed. Time will tell...

fixed my front end clunking on my own........

Well, they definitely have not improved by the 2017 and 2018 models as both ours purchased new are failing around an average of 10,000 miles. Seems to be a known problem. Every time another one of mine goes, I'll be adding it to the NHTSA website to hopefully help initiate a recall.
