High hopes for the C-Max and the Extended Warranty as a hedge.
ScubaDadMiami replied to aschofer's topic in Welcome
I got the Ford 7/125,000 plan with tire warranty. It's just one less thing to worry about. -
Enjoy!

Epic fail - 0% brake score and 0.1 mpg

That's it, folks! We have a winner! Can't do any worse than that except to gain bonus points by burning more fuel per distance. LOL -
Sounds like your dealer is a "keeper." Great dealers make a great vehicle stay great.

Compared to what I was paying before, the C-MAX does so well on gas that I just pay the extra for premium. Since I've never used anything else, I can't really compare any performance differences.

I carry a plug kit. However, there are road hazards that can kill a tire. In that case, I worry about traveling in areas with poor cell phone reception. Sure, I have the top plan from AAA, and I have Ford and GEICO, but what happens when I can't reach them? Should I be without cell coverage with a destroyed tire while in the middle of nowhere, that would become quite inconvenient. I don't like having to play the odds, hoping that each trip will win at the roll of the dice. BTW, should that tire happen to blow on a Saturday night, after all of the small town dealerships have closed, they are not likely to open again until Monday morning. That means camping out in a motel or hoping that my AAA plan with towing can find an open dealer with this tire in stock within 200 miles. I am not about to start throwing a tire inside my already packed car. So, I considered adding a hitch mounted spare tire that will still allow the rear hatch to open. The product does exist, but it's expensive. Also, since I don't have garage storage available, after my trip, I'd be stuck with driving that set up around all the time. Not my first choice. Technology will sort all of this out, I understand. Batteries will become smaller and more powerful. However, I just can't see releasing a car onto the market without the provision of a spare tire. When I travel, I want my mind to be free of these concerns. A couple of MPGs would be worth it, IMHO. I wish that Ford had figured out a way to include a spare in the C-MAX.

Samsung Galaxy phones + Sync =?
ScubaDadMiami replied to fotomoto's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I do everything by voice command. I see no problem in being able to listen to a text message, answer a call or dictate a short reply text. None of these require my eyes to divert from the road any more than would listening to the radio and occasionally using voice command to change the station. I was not suggesting to allow full keyboard use on the screen. -
Great thread, everyone!

You'll be seeing 60+ MPG.

So far, my 0W20 oil switch doesn't seem to have netted any benefits.

I would suggest reading this entire thread. It is well worth it. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/3342-best-engine-rpm-for-minimal-fe-loss/page-5? Here is the link to the video clip, which is fully discussed in the thread.

Questions about Nav system

This was also my experience. -
I have all kinds of problems on long drives. I got a cushion to put on top of the seat, and I even added padded seat covers. I also had to add an additional lumbar support. It is much better than it was, but I still need to add more padding.

I made a post with a link to a video clip about this subject. Check around for it.

I now have over 15,000 on my C-MAX, and I am still very glad that I chose Oxford White. Sure, some of the other colors look great when the car is brand new. Put a few miles and a few scratches on your new car, and then see how much it costs to get a touch-up job done by a professional, because you will certainly need one to make the more expensive paint job look like it never happened. Try this experiment. Call a local body shop, and ask them how much it would cost for a scratch to get repaired with one version of the paint versus the other. Make sure to let them know that one includes the metallic flake plus clear coat, and that the other does not. Oh, and you might also ask them about getting a perfect match with the tricoat versus the Oxford White. With the other colors, it costs more for the paint job as an option, and then it costs more to maintain. If it costs more to maintain, you are less likely to get scratches fixed as often. Which car will look better then?

Thanks. That's pretty much what I figured. I'll get started, and then I'll finally be able to get to my trip report.

As some of you may have noticed, I have been offline for a while. I just spent the last 5,403 miles driving from Miami to Maine and back. I was going to try to post a trip report, but I still have issues with loading photos. Apparently, there is a limit to the storage space--even though the message at the bottom of the loader says that there is unlimited, because I was able to load a number of photos before receiving a pop-up message about being over my limit. So, I am looking for my alternatives. From what I can see, I don't have the ability to have more than one photo album in the gallery. Is there a way to create additional albums? I sure don't see it. I don't want to go back and start deleting old photos. What are my options? I am not looking to start opening accounts at third party photo sites, downloading software and the like, just to be able to post some photos here. I want the easiest possible solution. Every other web site allows me to post photos without having to resort to having yet another online external solution. So, I think I will quickly get tired of jumping through hoops just to do so here. If the only way to do this is to go elsewhere, what is the absolute least hassle method that will involve the least number of steps?
