  1. I have an Oxford White C-MAX with tinted windows. Trying to figure out where to place the little round Forum stickers that came with the Platinum membership. Where is everybody placing these?
  2. I finally spoke to the owner. According to him, he left the vehicle with the Valet parker. The Prius was parked, and it was shut down for about 10 minutes before the fire broke out. The owner told me that he had 120,000 miles on the car, that he drives it every day, and that it had been virtually carefree . . . up to that moment.
  3. I am using a Galaxy Note II, so it is possible that these directions will be very slightly different for your model. First, my Samsung has a protective feature to make sure that you don't blow out your eardrums with headphones. So, even if you have the phone's volume up as high as it will go, the second that you get a headphone connection, the volume will automatically reduce. The phone thinks that any Bluetooth connection is a headphone. The fix is to connect, and then turn up the volume on the phone. I can't say anything about the music player issue. I use my phone for streaming music, not as a player, and I do not have the issues that you mention with trying to repeat the same track.
  4. Still sitting there. I think that the owner tried to go through the vehicle yesterday, because there were a couple of items with burn marks sitting on the roof, which makes me think that they came from within the vehicle, like when someone tries to go through to salvage personal belongings. I am guessing that it will soon be towed away, and that this is why the owner was going through the vehicle.
  5. When in the mountains, I've easily seen the icon fully topped off when coming down long stretches, especially when using Downhill Assist. As said, what you see is only showing the operating range, not the actual state of the HVB charge.
  6. I am also hearing that version. I think I hear it on NPR. Within the last couple of days, I also saw a television commercial, which I think was about end of year clearance type advertising, and that also mentioned the C-MAX along with about three other models. Since that commercial covered so many models, there were no specifics on the C-MAX or any of the featured vehicles.
  7. You can't. Like so many other options, it's all or nothing. Previous vehicles have had a "South" package (tinted windows, no leather but high-end package, no heated seats, A/C--back when A/C was an option), but no such thing for us.
  8. Promises, promises. :sing_rain:
  9. Even if they discontinue the C-MAX at some point, the technological leap forward will go on and apply to other models. To me, that is not the end of it but rather the evolution of what was in the C-MAX. I can certainly live with that. Those of us in this group are okay with being trendsetters, LOL. We get the advantage of being able to use all of the new things before they become commonplace across the industry. I especially agree with "Dealership salespeople are paid to meet the public and to sell, not to study manuals and to teach. They are often ill-informed about the newest models and the latest technologies..." If I would have decided my purchase based upon my first dealer experience with the C-MAX, I would probably be driving something else. I already knew way more about the vehicle than did my sales representative. When I asked a question, and I am not kidding about this, he went to a computer, printed out the sales materials that Ford provides for training sales people on the C-MAX, and handed it to me. He told me to teach him about it when I pick up the car.
  10. It is possible that I am incorrect about how it started. As I said, I was headed to my car in order to leave for an outing, and I got there after the fire had already been put out. Someone standing there (another bystander that was there before I arrived) made it sound like it was spontaneous. Clearly, the car was 100 percent inside of the parking space, so I conclude that it didn't happen while being driven, unless it was instantaneous with starting up to leave the spot or at shut down upon arrival at the spot. I asked if the owners knew, and the person that I spoke to made it sound like the owners were found and brought down to the garage. I am just putting 2+2 together, and I could be incorrect.
  11. A Prius in my building caught fire, apparently while sitting unattended in its parking space. I came into the garage, smelled smoke, and came around the corner to find this. The fire department was just leaving the scene as I arrived. It was a Hybrid model, just sitting there. It was not a plug-in.
  12. My understanding is that there is a cable running under it.
  13. I don't know why they waste time with the reprogramming for off target issues. I wish you the best, but . . . .
  14. This is why I keep saying to people that are trying to decide which model to buy, that they can easily live without these things, but that they really enhance the driving experience in the long run. Other than the forced leather, I am very happy that I went with the loaded SEL. I very much enjoy all of the little extras, and I use all of them. Okay, I don't use the Park Assist very often, but it's still fun when I do get the chance! :shift:

  16. I see about 10 MPG better without the A/C. I was getting about 62 MPG around town, last winter. That cooler air still hasn't reached down here. It's down to about 90F during the day, which I will take any day over the 96 that is the summer norm.
  17. It sounds to me like you have the A/C set to Auto. This will cause changes in fan speed. Switch to manual, and turn on recirculate, and then see what happens.
  18. I think I have had one reboot since 3.6. If it happens once in a while, no biggie, but if it keeps happening, take it to the dealer.
  19. I am talking about that stupid foot rest for the left foot of the driver. Open up that whole area, just like for the passenger side, I say! :rant2: It becomes downright painful to keep my leg propped up for long drives, and I can't comfortably put that leg around it's edge.
  20. Still about 90F, but not above. That's an :airquote: improvement :airquote: for South Florida. Until end of November, it's certainly still air conditioner time for us.
