I have the free version of Torque, and when trying to add the PID's, I seem to have two issues. First, when the application restarts, the custom PIDs disappear - I'm hoping the paid version fixes this. The second is that I don't have fields for "OF Mod" and "TP Hdr" - does anyone know if the paid version of Torque is required to get those added fields? Without them, I'm not getting any PSI data....

When I've seen this happen, the engine immobilizer light on the dashboard is lit up. I just power off, power on and all is well again. Happens once every couple of months or so for me.

Using Siri means you are using the Cmax's microphone, but the iPhone's program and data connection. You can switch to the internal microphone in your iPhone once Siri is launched for better accuracy.

Too funny you mention this - I just last week noticed a good sized bug in my left rear tail-light. Wasn't there when I bought the car! Did you get yours out?

I'd been having problems getting the Cmax to notify me and read text messages from my iPhone. After applying the 3.5.1 update to the car and the 6.1.3 update to the iPhone, I finally have the feature working. I got there by loosely following these instructions .. note, the part about stopping the car, opening the door, and restarting was essential to get the iphone bluetooth sync setting to have the "show notifications" menu item. Also note, this does not mean you can use the car to send texts, only get them. Seems like getting premium is almost a wash price wise..... If I get premium 13 gallons of gas (in my area premium is .26/gallon higher than regular) - 13x.26=$3.38 If I get 4 MPG greater on premium, at 13 gallons - 13x4=52 Then it will have cost me 3.38 (roughly price of regular in my area) to go an extra 52 miles I know there are many variables in play here ...

I made it, was a little nervous while running errands but just went for it.

One of my favorites has to be the climate control flow buttons - they are all on/off buttons which means you get to choose the combination of flow you want. When I first saw the buttons, I was afraid there was no "bi-level" button - pleased to find out you make your own by turning on top vents and bottom vents. So simple, yet so smart.

The sharing hotspot feature is redundant - users in your car could just as easily connect to the phone hotspot as the car hotspot. One potential benefit would be you could pickup a public wifi signal that requires sign-in, but others in the car wouldn't need to sign in. If the specific cell phone supports blue-tooth PAN, you may avoid needing to pay the cell providers extra $$ for the hotspot feature.

I'm thinking of getting the windows tinted - is there an advantage to doing it at a dealer? If you don't mind, how much did it cost?

Sound like great numbers for interstate - just curious: - mostly flat or somewhat hilly? - temperature? - did you use AC/Heat during that time these seem to be factors that have the most influence on achieving these good numbers ...

To summarize: - if you have no cell phone/usb modem, you can still create an in-car LAN for sharing between other wifi devices - you can also share a starbucks/mcdonalds/etc type wifi connection with your entire car if you wanted - a limited selection of usb modems can give the car connection to the internet - a phone that supports tethering without Wifi hotspot will give your car network connection to the internet - a phone that requires hotspot & tethering together defeats the purpose of having car wifi to begin with as they could share the hotspot - beware sharing cellular internet as it can eat up data plans fast
