  1. Ford should just invite some of us members to question us about how we get such high mpg. Then they could release a informational video from real owners.
  2. I use KBB.com, and I sign up for Fords special incentive information.
  3. The C-max could be so much better if Ford would just give it all of their latest safety features.
  4. I have a Ford Fusion hybrid in my neighborhood, but no C-max.
  5. I will be reaching 50 posts soon.
  6. Something about the roof lining is causing the side airbag not to completely come down.
  7. Glad to hear its a least Ford country!!!
  8. DETROIT -- Ford Motor Co. is recalling 33,021 C-Max hybrid cars because they may not adequately protect occupants' heads in a crash. Vehicles involved were made between Jan. 19, 2012, and June 25, 2013 and don't have panoramic roofs. C-Max hybrids with panoramic glass roofs aren't involved in the recall. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration discovered during vehicle testing that the car failed to conform to safety standards pertaining to head injury risk. Ford says there have been no reported injuries related to the issue. Ford will notify owners of the recall next month. Dealers will install additional energy absorbing material between the car's headliner and the roof. Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov. You can clearly see what they are talking about in the attached crash test video. Skip to 4:26. I also attached a photo, just in case you can't watch the video.
  9. I was so happy to have spotted another C-max. 10 minutes later on my drive home I spotted a second C-max. Sadly, I couldn't wip out my phone fast enogh to take a picture
  10. Lol. It is a common mistake, since they look so close to each other. The C-max , Focus, and Escape are all brothers and sister.
  11. I'm sorry to tell you, but that is a Ford Escape.
  12. A official Ford release said' " Following the conclusion of a collaboration with Toyota, Ford is moving forward with the development of a rear-wheel-drive hybrid system on its own; Ford is on track to have the hybrid system ready later this decade on rear-wheel-drive Ford pickups and SUVs." To see the full release go to http://media.ford.co...rticle_id=38313 "Rear-wheel-drive hybrid for trucks and SUVs on track After successfully completing the feasibility and development of the hybrid system project with Toyota, Ford is moving forward on its own with development of a rear-wheel-drive hybrid system for Ford pickups and SUVs. The new hybrid system – which will be available by the end of this decade – will be based on an all-new architecture to deliver the capability truck and SUV customers demand while providing greater fuel economy. “We know what it takes to build world-class hybrids, and we now will build and leverage that expertise in-house,” said Raj Nair, group vice president, global product development. “By continuing to develop a rear-wheel-drive hybrid system on our own, we can extend our advanced hybrid technologies to new vehicle segments and deliver even better fuel economy across our lineup.” While collaboration on the rear-wheel-drive hybrid has concluded, Ford and Toyota will continue to work together on development of next-generation standards for in-car telematics, back-end support systems for call centers and Internet-based services – all designed to bring more Internet-based information to consumers globally."
  13. I found this on Ford's media website. As its electrified vehicle market share grows, Ford also is taking action to improve the on-road fuel economy performance of 2013-model hybrid vehicles in the United States and Canada. Starting in August, the company will make calibration updates designed to improve on-road fuel economy for owners of the 2013 Ford C-MAX Hybrid, 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid and 2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. “We are committed to continuously improving the fuel economy of our vehicles,” said Nair. “We believe these actions will provide our customers enhanced on-road fuel economy satisfaction.” Calibration updates to Ford hybrid vehicles include control system enhancements for a variety of driving conditions on the highway, during short trips and while using the climate control system. Enhancements designed to improve customer satisfaction include: Increasing the maximum pure electric speed to 85 mph from 62 mph, allowing increased use of electric-only mode on the highway Optimizing the use of Active Grille Shutters to reduce aerodynamic drag under more driving and temperature conditions including cold weather, during air conditioner use and when the engine coolant temperature is higher Reducing the electric fan speed as a function of coolant temperature to minimize the fan’s energy consumption Shortening engine warm-up time by up to 50 percent to enable electric-only driving and engine shutdown at stops sooner after cold starts Optimizing the climate control system to minimize use of the air conditioning compressor and reduce the energy used in cold weather operation “Just as individual mileage can vary based on driving styles and environmental conditions, we expect fuel economy improvements will differ from customer to customer depending on individual driving habits,” said Nair. “Customers should see the most improvement at highway speeds, during air conditioner use and operation in colder climates. 16. This is a milestone for the C-max.
  17. Thank you. I GUESS THAT MEANS I'M OFFICIALLY IN THE 600+ MILE CLUB!!!!!!!!!
  18. I just posted my numbers to fuelly. I noticed my gallons used rating in slightly off though. I only put 12.5 gallons in the tank and it says I used 13.05. Although I passed the 600 mark this week im so sad I didn't hit 700. :gaah:  :nonono:
  19. Getting the highest mpg is easier than you think if you follow these simple rules. 1. Always look ahead. If a light turns red down the road start braking GENTLEY now. This is how you get the best regen which charges the battery, and helps a lot with mpg. 2. Accelerate slowly, this way you will be able to stay in EV mode as long as possible. Also always keep to the speed limit. 3. I find that the engage screen on the C-max is the most informative. Watch the screen to see when you are engaging the engine. Once you learn what you do that turns the engine on, you can help stop it, or at least prevent it from happening as much. 4. I know all of these steps are pretty basic, but once you learn to master all of these steps, you will get great mpg. Please message me with any other questions.
  20. Okay, I would love to help other C-max drivers. Where should I post my tips?
  21. Florida 97 degree weather is a great help in getting those 700+ mile tank.
  22. I usually refill on Saturday. I will take a picture then. I expect to hit between 710 and 730.
