Hi there, Ford has decided to dump the "Sync with My Ford Touch" deal with Microsoft and go with a QNX system in the 2016 models but it sounds like they aren't going to offer that as an upgrade install for current owners. Like a lot of people (and Ford itself, apparently) find the My Ford Touch system kind of crummy but I'm not going to go buy a whole new vehicle to get a stereo upgrade. I'm curious if anyone's been able to or even tried installing one of the aftermarket systems running Car Play or Android Auto. There are a number of manufacturers making aftermarket systems like that but so far all I've been able to find about compatibility was from Pioneer, who stated that the Cmax needed more research. Has anyone tried this? How well does it work? are steering wheel controls functional? Is there a unit that fits well in the existing MyFord Touch space?

I might be the first on this forum to have this problem, but I doubt it. My Radio/Infotainment system (and I use that term loosely) finally got the better of me, and then I got the better of it, Sort of. The screen repeated came in contact with my hand which just happened to be in a fist position moving rapidly forward towards the screen in a desperate attempt to get said (former) screen to recognize either the iPhone via BlueTooth or My USB Cable. After several repeated contact my fist was unable to convince the unit it should work properly, and the apparently went on an untruly unnecessary strike. Good thing the display is shatter proof of the little gremlin bastards running it from inside would have been shattered by the shreds of sharp plastic in what I can only describe as excessive over action to my reasoned albeit physical response, the screen gremlins refuse to allow the Screen to all my to get back to enjoy being led over Hell and Half of Georgia when only trying to find the other side of Atlanta or even the adjacent neighborhood It seems ridiculous poring goof money in after bad, given the plethora of after marked radios/CD/Nav on the market. Not entire sure how much s salvageable given that some functions work in the dash. Did I See a comment earlier from another poster regarding a Double Din unit as being required to nake this work.. Come on guy, admit what you did and tell me how you got out of this mess. Is there a way to buy a Double Din unit and put in a standard Double Din unit that would likely be able to find fast route and are not shorter than slow route, or route that are not there at all. !0 old technology did better navigation stuff that this beast. I took it for granted that everyone with MFT saw the Hybrid Drive display option in the center console, but haven't seen much discussion about it. I looked for information in the manual (hard copy and online) and haven't seen much in there about it either. Since I took delivery in March, I assume I have a 3.5.1 version of the system. Some pictures: My Ford Touch Start Screen: Hybrid Drive Info Screen - Opening Screen: Hybrid Drive Info Screen - Car at Idle Just started: Hybrid Drive Info Screen - Put the car into drive: Apologies in that I haven't figured out how to properly upload pictures that are acceptable. I'll work on that. One of the features in this display is it shows you in a graphical way when the ICE is providing power, when the electric batteries are supplying power, when the brakes are recharging, etc. I also like that it explains what elements in the system are drawing power.
