Jus-A-CMax
I was in Manhattan Beach, SoCal, this lovely Saturday afternoon, near 28th, Highland, Alma street. The area is like a terraced big mountain side with narrow lanes and street...dense beach houses with spectacular ocean views and the mandatory lovely restaurants and cafe. I was just cruising as I went about doing some appraisal work photographing some of the expensive houses there. I had some Hawaiian Slack guitar music playing in my Sony (comes with the SEL)...I was thinking how perfect is this music! The sun was out, my windows down, cruising in EV when I am not climbing those narrow lanes, and the crisp notes of the guitar coming out of the Sony system...so crisp like I was there. Add in some sweet smell of the ocean breeze to the ambience...I felt almost like I was lounging in the banana chairs in Maui or Kauai listening to the real thing....only thing missing was the coconut trees swaying in the breeze, and a nice cocktail... So all your CMax drivers, have you had these perfect moments with the music from your CMax and where you are driving, or are you too busy squeezing the MPGs? PS Some say this Sony is not the best but I'll tell you what, I really :wub2: the sound from this system, great for every range of music that I listen to from dance remixes to the hawaiian vocals. This is one of our favorite places! When our daughter and SIL lived in MdR, we visited Manhattan Beach several times a year and loved it. Your post took me right back to those hills, the beach, the volleyball nets, walking on the Strand, the wonderful little cafes. Thanks for the nice mental break from MI! (And after this break, it's back to the real world and making breakfast.) Jus-A-CMax
RachelnLa
Oh yes! Sometimes the music and the quiet ride of my car I forget I need to pay attention to the EV. That's when I know I LOVE my car. That happened on my way to our cabin in the woods with Phill Collins playing on the radio followed by Wham and backstreet boys (don't judge me). I love playing spotify thru the car. Now I must go and google Hawaiian slack guitar music. Always learning something here.
oxnard
I put on Slacker Radio and go to my Zumba channel. That way I get a workout on my way to work out.
lowbar
I just got my jukebox (thumb drive) set up yesterday. I went out and ran some errands listening to Santana. Pretty darn sweet. I love the voice recognition. Edited March 26, 2013 by lowbar Adair and RachelnLa

StoBro2
The main reason I got the MyFord Touch In-frustr-ainment system in my C-Max was to get the Sirius satellite radio. When I get tired of listening to stuff I already own on my iPod, I usually have Real Jazz, Bluesville, Sinatra, Underground Garage, Deep Tracks or Outlaw Country dialed up. The kind of stuff you never hear on terrestrial radio, even in a major metropolitan market like Chicago. It's nice that the C-Max is so quiet, because you need a quiet car if you want to hear the double bass solos in those old jazz recordings. I had the windows down to let in the fresh ocean breeze...ah...it was so nice of a combination. And it's not something we think about either when we bought the car, just a nice, discovered benefit...(until you run out of EV juice, ha) :) Edited March 24, 2013 by Jus-A-CMax
Laurel
I like driving down quiet lanes by the beach in stealth mode with no equipment turned on, windows down, and listening to the birds. We are just getting ready to pack a lunch with a thermos of hot chocolate and go down to the beach with our dog and our binoculars and bird watch. What birds are you likely to see there? We were at a park today and there were at least 12 swans. It must have been a Spring dating site for them :>)
Laurel
Adair we will probably see Herons, Bald Eagles, Trumpeter Swans, all sorts of wood ducks and the usual chickadees, robins, and maybe a few Flickers too. We live in a great area for bird watching as it is a migratory path for the birds. Adair
wamba2000
Nothing like driving through Northern Arizona/Monument Valley/Vermillion Cliffs area north of the Grand Canyon....remote, desolate, you see very few other motorists....with the morning sun on the rise......and with Aaron Copeland"s "Rodeo" and "Fanfare for the Common Man" blasting through the Sony....
