SP14
I have a 2014 Cmax SEL with 226k miles on it. Recently it has started to make a grinding kind of noise when I am traveling down the road and I let off the accelerator. When I am accelerating it is not there. I changed all 4 rotors and brake pads and it is still there. Any ideas on what to look at next?
homestead
Wheel bearings, hope it's not the transmission.
Bill-N
Probably front wheel bearings. They typically get quite warm/hot when failing. Carefully feel around the wheel hub for unusual warmth. But I'm surprised you didn't notice any noise when you did the brake work. I too hope it's not the transmission. Cheers.
JohnTrigger
I just replaced my two front bearings and hubs on my 2013 SEL. Bought parts at Rock Auto including new Timken sealed bearings, snap rings, axle nuts, and Motorcraft hubs. Bought tools I needed at Amazon. Bought high powered/torque battery impact at Harbor Freight (Hercules brand). Basically did it how this guy did it: homestead
