GreenChicago
I jinxed myself. Well I never should have posted "good job Ford engineers" following my car's update yesterday, because now my phone won't sync or be recognized at all. Help? I have an iPhone 4s, bluetooth is turned on, and I've deleted the phone from the car's history to start fresh. When I attempt to add a new device, I keep getting the "timeout" message that no phone is found or is not discoverable. Dang you, Ford engineers! Has anyone else had this problem, or can anyone suggest something short of going back to the dealership? Grrrrrr...
plus 3 golfer
NOPE, Syncing my iPhone 4 was much easier than before my 3.5.1 update. Just followed the instructions on the MFT screen. Does your iPhone indicate it is in discoverable mode when bluetooth is on? Edited June 4, 2013 by Plus 3 Golfer
Wingrider01
did you delete the definition from the Iphone also? When you look at the bluetooth screen in the setup does it show as discoverable?
wab
Might be time for a Master Reset. This might be the last step in the update and the tech didn't/ran out of time/has done 3 now thinks he doesn't need the manual/etc.

Does your iPhone indicate it is in discoverable mode when bluetooth is on?Yes, the iPhone say it's discoverable but I just get the searching circle loop on both the phone and the car console. I deleted the sync profile from the phone to avoid confusing the car, but that doesn't seem to have helped matters.

Phone shows discoverable, but it never actually pairs with the car. Bummer.

xanotos
Have you tried rebooting the iPhone? Hold on power button even after the 'slide to power off' until the iphone turns off. Wait 5 minutes and power back on. That might help. Edited June 5, 2013 by xanotos
GreenChicago
I'm headed back to the service bay on this one. I stopped by as they were closing yesterday, and the one and only "sync guru" dude couldn't figure it out, so looks like it needs further attention. Boo hiss. Hopefully nothing major.
