My question is the EV miles displayed pure EV only, or a combination of pure EV and assisted EV ?That one is the same for Energi and Hybrid. It is the number of actual miles driven in EV, that is, no ICE. The Energi has other considerations, which aren't important here.
agilix
Surpeise: usually the C-Max display always shows less gas than actually fill up.Ā Today, my tank showed using 13.43 gal in the picture, but Costco gas station showed I only added 12.466 gal, which brings the actual number to 57.4 mpg! Interesting......

Interesting......Sure you didn't add a gallon sometime along the way?Ā The display will just keep accumulating gallons used until reset - it could read 100 gallons.Ā Or.... have you been boasting about how good your mileage is?Ā Someone might be sneaking some extra gas in there for fun!Ā It has happened!Ā My dad told of a guy way back, like in the '60s, who had a VW bug or such, and kept talking up his great gas mileage so his co-workers started sneaking out and adding a bit of fuel periodically.Ā The guy became ecstatic about how great his mileage was!Ā Now that's a hilarious (and meritorious!) practical joke. raadsel
My best guess is that you didn't fill the car up quite as full. Maybe the pump was on a slight incline, or maybe the pump shut off a bit early, there are any number of things that causes you not to "fill" your tank. I did not even mention (embarrassingly) that the gas was actually spilled out when I refilled, so it is definitely a full refill.Ā I think there are several factors:Ā (1) My gas gauge might not be accurate, but was not that much different. I expected to use more than 13 gal for the 710 miles, and was a little surprised that the yellow warning was barely start to show up and I still had about 45 miles left on the gauge. That would bring an error (variation) about 1 gal, which is not abnormal.Ā (2) I have been driving an alternative route to send kid to summer job. While the overall distance increased daily (thus 2 weeks instead of 3 weeks for that tank), the overall freeway speed (50 mph) plus relative flat latitude (Rt 34 instead of Merritt parkway in CT) are optimal for EV driving.Ā (3) I visited repair shop in June to address an issue of slow leak of one tire. Turned out that there was a nail! They fixed it and my tire warning was gone (annoyingly lighting up every two months for a year).Ā Ā (4) The "low" freeway speed enabled me to open windows most of the time instead of using AC, I noticed more close to to top 50 or even low 60 MPG readings after every ~15 mile drive (using 0.2 gal), literally half way from home to New haven, and then to work, back and forth.Ā (5) Summer weather is helping: not too many hot/humid days so far, and I chose to drive C-Max during a better days :) kyledamron1 and ptjones
