Greetings from first hybrid owners out of San Antonio

Well, certainly not the "first" hybrid owners in SA, but this is a beginning for us.

It's the wife's NEW purchase. Why is it my wife always seems to get the new stuff?

She had Ford Focus for many years and it was time for a change up. We looked first to CARMAX (remove the A&R, what do you get?).

But when it came to hybrids, we just did not have nearly as much to choose from as we first thought we might.

I looked to dealerships and noted a special of $1000 off and 2.9%, and it was close to the used C-MAX we had considered with 6k miles.

It just came together as more sensible all around. As well, with our location (less ICE warmup), her typical driving day, increasing cost of fuel, our desire to be more earth friendly, etc., it seemed time to take the leap.

There were reservations, we have always purchased used, less than 18k. I will need to make a purchase in 3 years, and so on, regarding our simple, conservative intention. But, doing simple math on fuel saving in a comparative way and thinking about resale value at next trade-in point - it is now a done deal.

I've already read a great deal in this forum and I think this is a great place - will visit weekly for some time to come I'm sure.

I've never done so much homework on a vehicle before and soon will be teaching the wife. I'm sure we will quite involved for awhile.
