nsteblay
Has anyone successfully sent a text message through their smartphone using MFT? I can receive texts post 3.6.2 with my iPhone 4S but can't send them.
ScubaDadMiami
I have only had 3.5 and 3.6, and I have always been able to have incoming texts read, but I have neither been able to initiate new text messages nor have I been able to reply through MFT. HannahWCU
I have replied using MFT. Version 3.1.3, but haven't tried since any upgrades. I have a Droid RAZR Maxx (first gen). Are you saying you don't have that option or that you can create it but it won't send?
zhackwyatt
I can send and receive with my HTC One. The only issue is if I send, the message shows up as pending in my phone, eventhough it does indeed get sent. If i restart my phone all the pending messages go again. I think it's the phones fault. asb
The type of message I can send from MFT are pre-scripted. They have "Left work" and other typical texts that you can choose. I have not ever been able to send something I've written. My phone allows me to speak a text message, but my car will not do that.
HPRifleman
When I get a text the only options on the screen are to listen or cancel. I don't recall any reply option.
ScubaDadMiami
I don't see a Reply option, either.
asb
To reply, you have to go into the phone section of the screen. Then hit messages. However, many features are turned off while the car is running.
wab
This might not mater much longer. One of our larger suburbs just passed an ordinance. ZERO texting, Zero tolerance while operating a motor vehicle, red lights/stop signs included. Edited August 25, 2013 by wab
HannahWCU
You cannot text while the vehicle is moving. You must be stopped.

It is a stoppable offense with a increasing fine for multiple offenders here and as of Jan 01 2014 utilizing a cell phone with out hands free will also become a stoppable offense with the same increasing fine for multiple offenders
