Possible to mod so as to heat seat backs w/o heating seat bottoms?

Our Prius did not come with seat heaters, so I had an upholstery shop install them (along with electric-inflatable lumbar supports).  The installation allows me to select back+bottom heat, or just back heat.  I always choose to heat just the seat back.

Now in my C-Max Energi, I find that I miss the ability to heat just the seat back.

Does anyone on the Forum know whether the upper and lower heating panels are wired in series or in parallel?  If the latter, it may be possible to install a cutoff switch for the seat bottom (and if it is, I will definitely pursue it).  For that matter, any information about the seat-heater wiring might be helpful.  Thanks in advance.

Odd that "cooling" Seats are never a consideration for those that live in the "Heat Belt".  Here is South Florida occasionally you see a C-MAX with the Winter Package on a Dealers lot.  Who needs  heated exterior mirrors and seats in South Florida?  True, they are usually a (swapped) vehicle that was sent South from a Northern Dealership but who in their right mind would pay an additional $750 to $1000 for something they would never use?  Many Mercedes-Benz Vehicles that are shipped to South Florida have the "heated seats" option added too and these are direct shipped to MB Dealerships here, and they are (not) swapped vehicles!
