Recall--ignition chime

I got the letter today.  My C-Max has keyless ignition and the recall will add a chime if you open the door and leave the key in the car.  I don't really want the update.  Can I tell the dealer NOT to make the change?

I don't think dealerships have a  choice about "Safety Recalls."

When/IF you take it in they have to do it.

They did ours a couple of weeks ago.

I like it better than the HONK HONK it used to make when I stepped away from the car.

So what does it do now when you get out of the running vehicle with the FOB on your person?  A series of chimes?

AH HA evidently the chime has been successful at reminding me to leave the fob or turn the car off.

With the fob in my pocket it chimes when I open the door and HONK HONKs when I get out and close it.

I'm happy with the chime.

  • 2 weeks later...

gah. So now we'll have the horn AND a chime?!

Suuuck.

Is there any way to turn off that honk?

This is so lame, why can't I customize my own car that I OWN to my own liking?

And it's probably played through the speakers so I can't disable it by disconnecting the small speaker under the dash...

Why do you torture us so Ford?
