jdbob
I just noticed that on Ford's website specs for the 2013 C-Max (all models) they list the tire size as P215/55R17. On my 2013 Energi (built in March) the factory tire size is P225/50R17, which is 1.8% smaller circumference and a bit wider. I wonder if that is the new size for the 2014 and not a change for later 2013 models. Any idea what they hope to gain?

Overall, that is still a car that will handle well, though not quite as well as the 225/50, versus the Prius which is something like P195/65R15 I personally would prefer tires and wheels that were more like the Prius - so they would be cheaper to replace and get better mileage and have a softer ride. My last vehicle was a heavy mini-van so compared to that I suspect the handling would be fine. In the past, I have replaced tires way before they officially need replacing for they do not handle as well as they wear. I am mostly concerned about handling in rainy conditions. fbov
Where'd you see that? Got a link? My brochure and spec sheet both say 225/50... although 215/55 is an equivalent size. My snows are 215/60-16's, FWIW. HAve fun,Frank

fbov
Indeed! I wonder if they use other sizes in the multinational version of the car? You can get 15" wheels that fit... Thanks for responding,Frnak
