Efficiency Leaves

After a recent 1300+ miles @ 75+mph round trip to Colorado my 8 yr old grandson (he doesn’t :love_shower: MISS ANYTHING) mentioned that we were missing some leaves and asked what happened to them.

They only show when we shut the car down, the left display is set to entertainment while driving.

I always think, to encourage drivers to use the 'efficient leaves', they should be posting a 'sexy picture' :censored: of a gender of the drivers choice.  Say, the more efficient they drive, the more the picture reveal!

The should put more drivers into driving eco-consciously.. (well, maybe more accidents )

Or have leaves covering the sexy picture and leaves disappear as you drive efficiently.

I tried the compass - looks nice but it only jumps in 45 degree increments - lame!  I can look at the sun and get it that close.  If we must have the leaves there should be a running percentage of the time the "big leaf" was shown.  My real gripe though -  with all that space the temperature and time are so little.  Huge waste of a screen.

Oh, BTW, what kind of driving does it take to blow away ALL the leaves?

I agree.  A complete waste of a screen.  I can't believe I can't choose a voltmeter or a tachometer or some efficiency info.  But apparently on the models with Nav/sync the right hand display is tied to the central display.

From the wiring diagrams it doesn't appear so. The IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) computer appears to control both the left and right screens. However, there are inconsistencies in the workshop manual. The IPC section shows no connection to the 5-way steering wheel right-hand switches. However the section about the information and entertainment system shows those switches going to the IPC. My guess is that they do go to the IPC because they are used to scroll through the options on the right hand display. I would think that adding a "MyView" capability to the right-hand display is possible, just a victim of Ford half-baked software.

I guess the flip side is that we get spoiled awfully fast! Remember when all you got was a speedometer and two "idiot lights"?  Not even an engine light!

:secret: Don't tell the "public" but I think here's a spy shot of the 2015 C-Max dash!  You can't tell me Ford isn't listening! :lol2:
