kc1174
Just ending a trip to my original home over the pond, and here's my 2014 C-Max rental. MFT doesn't exist here - sync only. Stick shift and a button for the parking brake which was a pain. I love the look of the front grille and the rear reflectors under the bumper and has a built in scuff protector. And no, it doesn't have the mods the 2014 hybrid has unfortunately - no longer hood seals, no rear window deflectors, and no underbody wheel deflector things. Mpg btw was about 49 in US money. Was a great drive and helped me get over missing mine :/ No 12v issues btw ;) If anyone else has driven an overseas C-Max, and has thoughts about them vs. ours, maybe this can be a discussion? http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/uploads/gallery/album_106/gallery_504_106_503534.jpg http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/uploads/gallery/album_106/gallery_504_106_1579680.jpg http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/uploads/gallery/album_106/gallery_504_106_1745597.jpg Edited July 15, 2014 by kc1174 ScubaDadMiami

kc1174
What country was this in? Was the c-max a hybrid?Sorry, it's a UK model and an ecoboost 1.0l I think or 1.3. Not sure. Goes like hell though but was hard not to slow brake and kick in EV :/

wab
Glad you got to go home for a few days, any more pictures? Now if Ford offered"The 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine is available with 100 & 125 PS and delivers fuel consumption of 54.3 mpg (Grand C-MAX) and 55.4 mpg (C-MAX) with a CO2 output of 119 g/km (Grand C-MAX) and 117g/km (C-MAX). In fact, the EcoBoost petrol engine’s fuel consumption and CO2 emission figures are more like that of a diesel." or either of the diesels"TDCi diesels. Now with improved power, torque and economyBoth the frugal 1.6-litre TDCi and the powerful 2.0-litre TDCi diesel engine have seen a number of technical improvements to increase energy efficiency. That means higher performance but lower CO2 emissions." We would trade TODAY! But wait there's MORE"Ford PowerShift transmission for more fun on less fuelCombining the convenience of an automatic with the control of a manual, this 6-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission pre-selects the next gear for you, so you don’t lose any power when you change. http://www.ford.co.uk/Cars/C-MAX/Performance-and-efficiency#primaryTabs It only took 10 years to get the first cmax to the US, wonder how long before the better versions get here? kc1174
Nah sorry, no more photos. I did take some measurements though and the wing mirrors and front and rear bumpers are the same dimensions as ours. I found a primed front end online, but no grille as of yet. Also found the top cover and turn signal light housings from the mirrors online but I'm not sure there's much need for that. I wonder if switching out my front end will invalidate the warranty lol Looks more aerodynamical than ours and with less of a footprint on the fogs. Given the new EPA figures and the additional $475 check Fedex just dropped off, it makes you wonder why Ford Europe and Ford US don't talk to each other more. I managed the same mpg driving like an idiot with the AC on for the sake of it in my 1.0l ecoboost that I get here hypermiling. Oh well. On the flipside, it did cost me $107.34 to fill her up before I dropped her off with Avis :) Edited July 18, 2014 by kc1174
kc1174
Just found these online for the British/Euro C-Max. At $1.70 to the £ right now, it's $410 less shipping, so probably close to the figure on that check from Ford, but these look wonderful (and that's not a word I use too often). http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_c-max_drl_daytime_running_light_kit__f_1717420.htm
RockwallRick
I found a website for a C-Max Club in the UK. After reading a few posts I came to this conclusion. When it comes to the C-Max you either love them or hate them no matter where you come from! http://www.cmaxownersclub.co.uk/ kc1174
scottwood2
That is interesting. Your mileage was about the same with the gas version? What kind of mileage did you get? I am also not sure why they don't offer other engine options here? Also interesting that people like the car or hate the car just like here. But then again other forums like the Volt forum had the same thing. My Scion forum had this a little but I think there were a more lovers than haters there. I was trying to break 60, but doing 80mph down the M40 back to the airport didn't help my cause. I'm there again at Xmas so I'll take the GasPods with me next time :)

AdrianFormby, Lancs (orig.)Ha! Originally from Macclesfield here - moved over 12 years ago. You might want to give Fox rent a car a go. I think I got lucky at Avis at Gatwick that day. Was over again the other week as that first trip in July was cut short by BA losing my bag and other random mishaps.. and got some VW Polo with manual mirrors the second time... Seriously thought those were a thing of the past. Bluetooth stereo and backup camera, and manual wing mirrors! Fox seem to have more Fords so when I'm over again at Xmas I'm going to try them instead. Want to swap Vancouver for Tampa? ;)
