Torque Log Analyzer

Torque Log Analyzer is a Google Spreadsheet add-on that process Torque logs and reports a summary of your trip.
The report highlights driving behaviors that are bad for your mileage, so you can improve your driving style.
Torque Log Analyzer was written specifically for Toyota HSD hybrid cars, but now supports Ford hybrid cars also.

As I've just added support for Ford hybrid, I'm looking for testers.

The apps is free and just a for-fun project for me.

Please, have a look and tell me what you think.

The app is available on the chrome store at https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/torque-log-analyzer/gfpnpmjdafhcfgikgccfkjgkicenlbng

Take a look at the web site for info and instructions: http://torqueloganalyzer.blogspot.it/

I would recommend that you post this on the Fusion Hybrid Forum too. There are a few Torque users over there.

Okay, not that I would ever do something like this but my natural curiosity leads me to wonder what the heck you are talking about -- is this "Torque" thing you talk of some sort of hardware piece you add (like to the computer port of the car) that then produces information you can use?  I've never heard of it and a web search doesn't reveal anything useful to this old mind.

Basically, torque is an app that runs on tablets that displays car information that is not displayed by the Ford displays.

Ooookay, I guess I'm still a bit confused (not your fault, just my normal state of mind).

Near as I can tell, you still need some sort of way of *getting* the data into whatever device you then use to analyze the information.  For example, following the iOS route I see that the DashCommand app needs something from the OBD port.  What?

Walk me through this -- assume I'm an idiot (I am, when it comes to cars) and wanted to somehow use all my existing tech (my iPhone, iPads or even my Surface Pro) to run some of these apps.  And, of course, my C-Max (and I have MFT).  What else would I need, both physical and software wise, in order to do that?  And how difficult is it to hook up whatever the physical part of it is?  (Again, I really am NOT going to do this, but my curiosity holds no bounds).

Something like this broadcasts the additional info via bluetooth.

Let say you have an android tablet, then you buy the torque app from google play store.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.prowl.torque&hl=en

Then you have to set it up some, which can require some knowledge of math or some hand holding.

(By the way, I do not use this at this time.)

Okay, I think I get it.  This is the same port that even on my old Durango the tech would hook up to see what the car computer was throwing in terms of error codes (even then I used to hate that when an error would occur I'd have to take it into the mechanic to find out what was going on.  At least nowadays most auto parts shop will hook up and tell you for free).

THAT particular port I knew how to get to.  Anyone here know how hard it is to get to the C-Max port?  And, for the sake of argument let's stipulate it's easy enough to get to that I'd even *want* to try, is this (the bluetooth emitter) the sort of thing you could leave plugged in, or is there a reason you wouldn't want to do that?

If you stick your head under the dash on the driver's side and use a flashlight, you should see it.  I believe I read that there is actually two of them.  Not sure where the other is.

Does anyone know if this can be used to make a "Trip Summary" log?  I'd like to have the summaries automatically saved so I can review them later.

I love the trip summaries, but there is no way to see the previous trips.

You can, as long as you do not start the CMax with the brake pedal down. For example, you pull into garage and you forgot to review your trip summary and your car is off. No problem. Just press the Start button but without the pressing the brake pedal. This kicks the car into accessories mode. Now jus turn off the car and your last Trip Summary is shown. Hoewever, once you really start the car with Start + brake pedal, your last Trip Summary is reset. Its gone...POOF!
