Cmaxer
Behind that grill is the Cabin temperature sensor. Using a flashlight and the canned compressed air and getting the head underneath the console one can visualize the sensor with the fan blades exposed. I directed the flow of air to spin the blades clockwise and a puff of dust flew back into the cabin. homestead, METROMAN and Lacienega

Cmaxer
Update on the issue where colder air on driver side compared to passenger side... There are a few more temperature sensors especially for dual climate control and they all needed to be cleaned. This was determined and accomplished by the the Ford service as part of the original work order so no additional charge to fix. Ford has done well and I am grateful. rhea
I've only recently started reading a lot about the EVAPORATOR DISCHARGE TEMP SENSOR having issues in the CMax hybrid as well as other FORD models; however, I've had a similar issue for at least 5 of the 8 yrs we've had the 2013 Energi. The sensor replacement (now around $20) seems a worthwhile venture with little room to mess things up (unless the new sensor is bad ). It appears I can do this without removing that piece of plastic covering which is blocking part of the sensor head. Can anyone (esp you people who work on this vehicle) tell me if I'm correct? Thx. In the meantime, I'm definitely going to use some canned air on that vent.
