I wish some models come with motorized way to fold mirror

It has become a chore to stop in the driveway, lower the window, fold the mirror, raise the window and then pull in - and reverse everything when you pull out.

I had auto-retracting side mirrors on my Audi A6 and to be honest, they were only useful on a car ferry where there is only a foot between the cars.

I have had them on several different cars and SUV's, and find them very useful.  Much easier to fit into the single car garage at my old house and still be able to walk on each side of the car,  great when parking in a public lot and the mirrors allow extra room for people and shopping carts to walk by, and less of a potential impact area when parked on city streets. 

 

I don't think they are any more prone to break than the electric motors used to adjust the mirror glass.

I actually think that I would have preferred to have some of the options from the Fusion Energi / Hybrid, like adaptive cruise, lane departure, air conditioned seats, climate controlled steering wheel, etc.

 

Of course, the FFE can reach 45K when outfitted like that!

Trust me.  If it's made by Audi, it's prone to breakage :)

The option is available on the Euro C-Max. It would be interesting to dig a bit and see if they could be adapted to our cars. I doubt it would be easy, would probably involve running power, and adding a switch, etc..

We had this option on our Suburban, wish I had it on my Truck! I once knocked over a garbage can with my Truck Mirror while going thru a Mc'D's drive thru lane. :rockon:
