Taiwwa
I can't seem to find a tire inflation kit anywhere on my Cmax SEL. I'm assuming that it is missing per the previous owner. What is the best replacement kit to get?
homestead
It should be under the front passenger seat.
Bill-N
It should be under the front passenger seat. But reached from behind the (front passenger) seat.
WNY
under passenger seat, Velcro into a recess in the floor. From Ford, they are not cheap. just get a good air compressor and a can of fix-a-flat. here's what it looks like on Ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/FORD-Motorcraft-Temporary-Mobility-Canister-Air-Compressor-Kit-P-N-8S4A-9F891-AA-/221917262697?hash=item33ab4cb369:g:vQcAAOSw~OdVa6tn&vxp=mtr Edited December 14, 2015 by WNY
SnowStorm
But reached from behind the (front passenger) seat. And after pulling out the rear floor mat. (How many C-Max owners does it take to find the TMK?)If missing, I agree with just getting a "standard" compressor and can of goo.

Is this all that is needed, or is that just the pump?
SnowStorm
Thanks for this. Is this all that is needed, or is that just the pump? That is the pump and the sealant canister (round can with "MAX 50 mph" on it). The canister has its own hose separate from the one connected to the pump. Hook up the wrong hose, set the selector to the wrong symbol (like I did) and presto, you shoot goo when and where you don't want it. Then you have to buy a very expensive replacement canister with attached hose. That's why the suggestion to just get a regular can of sealant. The pump, however, is nice. The hose screws on/off with minimal air loss, the gauge is illuminated and easy to read, you have a pressure release button, etc. I've always been happy with the pump. I use it for my other vehicles as well.
Taiwwa
How about the Ford Temporary Mobility kit? http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Ford-OEM-Temporary-Mobility-Tire-Air-Compressor-Kit/171983018981?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D34875%26meid%3D23c28309757f480e9ef562590860e399%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D121841189239 it is significantly cheaper. Taiwwa
Quick Q: the mobility canister has an expiration date. How do you find replacements just for the slime?
WNY
you can probalby get the tire foam canister for the kit from the dealer if you wanted. A can of Fix-a-Flat will probably cost you significantly less.
