ptjones
Are you still using Michelin's and have you watched my YouTube Videos on How to get great gas mileage in a CMAX? Paul
kyledamron1
I'm at 66,500 miles. I purchased it 700 miles ago, 2013. Currently averaging around 50 MPG. I reset the lifetime stats when I purchased the car so that I had a more accurate number as to my total usage. ptjones and C-MaxSea

Camijomo
My 2013 SEL has about 42,000 miles. No major repairs or fixes, just regular maintenance and recalls. Lifetime MPG is 41. It improved with age for the first three years, and has now leveled off. Wondering about new tires this winter. Any recommendations?
notquitesane
I have about 76,000 kms on mine, averaging 5.8L / 100 km. I think that converts to 40.5 mpg.Going to get the windshield replaced before winter, along with new tires. I won't be able to make it through a winter with the tread I have left. Spitinuri
I have just crossed 220K miles. The car is still running great. The latest issue is related to the door latch recall. Ever since I have had this done the front windows make that screeching noise (reminiscent of a chalkboard and nail combination). It was initially treated with a little window grease. On Monday we go back for a teardown and reconstruction to see if that fixes it. ptjones and obob

cmax-nynj
Has anybody changed brake fluid themselves with their high mileage CMax? what about transmission fluid? There are many high mileage C-Max (running or retired) taxis from NYC that are not mentioned here. They sometimes appear on CL with 200K + miles
ptjones
With 183k mi. haven't changed brake fluid yet, don't use brakes very much, disk look almost new. Trans is 85k old, no need to change trans fluid until 150K mi. Paul
SnowStorm
Almost to 150k so does anyone know if there are alternates for transmission fluid? Is there a synthetic? Any value in getting the old fluid tested?
ptjones
I would just replace it, but it's going to be a challenge to do it. Paul
56HotRod
Brand new 2017 Titanium. Had it four weeks. I just have 200 miles on it so far and only used a little over 1/4 tank. This is my first hybrid, and I'm excited about getting it broken in and better mileage out of it. I'm sure it will be better when it gets warmer out. ptjones
I'm at 190k mi. and HVB works fine, remember max usage is only 32% so at this rate the car will fall apart before the HVB dies. :) Paul kyledamron1, plus 3 golfer and obob
mtb9153
Mike when you shut off the 2013 CMAX in the Smart Display it will show you current trip numbers for approx. 10 sec. and then switch to Life Time numbers. You can toggle up and down with up and down arrows on steering wheel. :) PaulThanks Paul for the refresher course kyledamron1 and ptjones
mtb9153
Maxis has a strange habit of quickly losing all stored battery reserves once I turn off the ignition. By that I mean, lets say I just pulled in the driveway with almost a full charge showing. I go in the house but I comeback in 5 minutes to drive off again. I push the start button and there’s a horrible shaking as the engine kicks in. The battery on the instrumentation panel shows basically zero. Where did all my electrical reserves go? There isn’t an electrical drain running that I know of? This doesn’t happen every time, sometimes I can come back and start after 30minutes and my reserves are still there. This can’t be good? However it has been happening for over a year or more. Edited April 9, 2018 by mtb9153

nsteblay
110,000 on my 2013 Silver C-Max SEL. Been wonderful, no problems, 42 MPG lifetime average. 25,000 on my Red 2017 C-Max SE. Also a great car - 44.1 MPG average this last year. I really like these cars. They're ideal for commuting in heavy freeway traffic. ptjones
Spitinuri
I just went over 237K miles. I did a little general maintenance. New plugs and air filter, New cabin air filter and new wiper blades. Someone asked earlier if it was the original traction battery and the answer is yes.
