Pop When Accelerating From Standstill

Recommended Posts

Our 2013 SE (179k miles) now intermittently makes an abrupt "pop" sound when accelerating from a standstill after braking to a stop.  It definitely seems to require a moderately abrupt start off and it can happen even if the ICE does not start.  I don't think it has ever happened after coasting to a stop or braking very gently.  It seems it started about a 1000 miles after having the transmission replaced, latch recall done, and rear brake rotors/pads replaced.  No idea if its related to any of that work.  It sounds like its under the car but hard to tell where.  Any ideas or similar experiences?

I also have noticed a clunking sound when starting fairly quickly and when stopping at rear passenger side. I think it has something to do with the brakes, it showed up after having oil changed and tires rotated at Dealer. I tightened wheel nuts with no change. Don't think it is suspension, because it would be doing it all the time. :headscratch:
