shaners
The cold weather and snow has taken a toll on my MPG. The last tank hand calculated is not quite 30.6 mpg. This is my wifes car and she puts the majority of the miles on it and bundles herself up so she can stay in EV mode as much as possible. There is slightly over 1400 miles on the car... RachelnLa
I seriously thought of keeping my fleece lap throw in the car to use with the heated seats. Ya know, hold that heat in. No point in heating up the whole cabin for just me.
Laurel
Well my husband refused to go look at Christmas lights with me in my C-Max unless I put the heat on LOL. What a hot house flower he is. Adair
Jus-A-CMax
Don't u wish for the good ole days where we just put on the heating or AC on just BECAUSE its cold or hot? Reading all these posts here and acting like a real scrooge by not using the car's amenities just cause I want to save the battery level or push that 1 more MPG. C'mon, brand new car....no heating....no AC....picture does not seem right, lol. Sometimes our other half is right to drive with us so we restore some sanity into our comfort or go the speed limit. JulieB
I have asthma, and while I can deal with the cold for a bit, I have to run the A/C on hot days because we live in a non-compliant area. Yes, air pollution is a trigger. I'll take the lower MPG over extra doctor visits and meds any time.
StoBro2
Running the seat heater to stay warm doesn't do you much good when it's 11 degrees and your breath is frosting up the insides of all of the glass in the car. I just use the HVAC like it's any other car. I can live with the consequences. My current rate of 37 miles traveled for every gallon consumed is still almost double what I would have gotten in my previous car under the same conditions. JulieB
Exactly. Our old guzzler was getting 18-20 MPG. The C-Max runs rings around it. I'm not gong to put my health in jeopardy for a little extra fuel economy.
