  1. I downloaded the owner's manual before I bought the car :) I searched for 'battery' and didn't see anything except "our vehicle is equipped with a Motorcraft maintenance-free low voltage battery which normally does not require additional water during its life of service. ", P289
  2. My guess would be that the slight EV boost allows the ICE to run at its optimum RPM.
  3. Does the Fuelly iOS app work offline to cache your data and upload it when you have a connection? I'm running an iPod Touch (even though I'm the last person you would ever think wouldn't have a smartphone yet), so I don't have data on the road.
  4. I for one find it difficult to believe that the higher seating position than most cars didn't work out in her favor, but with the higher beltlines of cars these days, who knows... That brings up something that slightly surprised me: It has RCA jacks, instead of a more common 1/8th inch jack. I guess it's because it also supports composite video, but I imagine it would be far more common for people to use the 1/8th inch jack.
  5. Linkifying for the lazy: SOUND SYSTEM QUOT WORKING TODAY
  6. I have the Nav in a C-Max that came with 3.5.1, and that worked perfectly, instantly, except for: When I used the GPS to set the time, it did not catch the daylight savings; I had to adjust that hour manually. The horror! The only other problem I've had in MFT is that when trying to connect to my home wifi router, the keyboard is disabled if you switch from numbers to letters. Reading through this, I can't help but think I dodged a huge bullet. I almost pulled the trigger to buy a C-Max in February. I would have been full of regret based on these experiences.
  7. I suppose 4 days and 200 miles is a bit early to be touting any success? I will definitely start checking the voltage, maybe keep a daily log book of the voltage when I start and stop the car.
  8. I got to see a little debugging as I was trying to buy mine. The system largely worked but wouldn't respond to voice commands: It would mute the audio, but wouldn't respond with a voice prompt, or react to any voice commands. Pressing the hangup button returned control to the entertainment system. The guy said "oh just do a master system reset" (gear / gear / gear > scroll to bottom > master reset). Didn't work, twice. Took it to the service bay. (Goodness, they seem to move you to the front of the queue if a problem is blocking the sale). Turns out, it seems to cancel the reset if you aren't 100% patient: Don't touch anything until the screen goes blank, starts up, goes through the "Sync" progress bar (which looks eerily similar to the old Windows start-up progress bar… bad memories!), and reloads all the items on-screen…. Then turn the accessory off, and back on, and again be patient while it loads everything. Then it worked, and has continued working so far. Oh yeah, so does anyone actually know where the low-voltage battery is? As much as I'm willing to take their reassurance that the battery should never be touched except by a certified graduate from Hogwarts, I still want to know, and it feels strange not seeing it anywhere.
  9. Howdy all, I've been pining after a new car for pretty much the last 7 years, finally found a car that made me want it. I brought home yesterday a Candy Blue SEL (package 302A). I spent a day scouring the Metro San Diego inventory for the available 302As, and there was only one in a non-neutral color. (I hate neutral colors with a vengeance). So I was slightly dismayed when the salesman couldn't find it out on the lot. Turns out it was in the showroom - they had to move the Model A out of the way for me to test-drive it. So far so good.
