Jiggled door handle and lift gate opened
LizM replied to DaveofDurham's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
I have had some issues not being able to open the liftgate at first...it is sometimes a struggle. The dealer could not replicate..it started this past fall, but can't honestly say it is because of cold weather. I actually thought it might have to do with salt..trying to keep the back clean is continuous. Until it fails consistently, I guess the dealer won't do anything. -
Did anyone else notice in the video that the Gasoline icon showed the filler door on the left...mine (2013 SEL) is on the right. Has that changed?

ScubaDad, may I ask what brand of seat cover you bought for the back? And how is the fit? We also have a dog and are planning a trip with her.

I would say, "oh, not another one...", but I am glad and impressed that Ford is staying on top of these. -

On one of the routes that I take when going home...it's fairly rolling, with more long stretches of downhill than uphill. My battery symbol gets full every time on this run.

I finally posted a pic of my CMAX on profile...that's me on Google Map. Saw the Google guy turning in front of me one day last summer.

I have another suggestion, though not sure if it's a great one. Have you turned your bluetooth off on your phone for a few hours and then turn it back on. I had some trouble a few months ago, not getting text messages and it was suggested that I try that and it worked. I also have noted that if I don't open a text message on my phone..say I just happen to be looking at my phone when it comes in and it doesn't need a reply...this message will come over my mft at any time just out of the blue, even a week or two later. But once I go into my phone an open the text message, it seems to stop doing that.

For Those Of You Who Drive Majority/Mostly Highway Miles...
LizM replied to AMA904's topic in Fuel Mileage
Hi, my job moved back downtown starting in June of this year and so I began driving highway miles. It's about a 35 mile trip one way, so 70 miles a day and usually at least 4 days a week. Prior to this move, I drove back roads and city roads to my job, about 15 miles one way. I was averaging in the spring, summer, fall - median temp days about 44 mpg. Since moving downtown, my average is up....generally 47 - 48 mpg. I go in early and leave early to avoid as much of the stop and go that I can. I also use Eco cruise set at about 65 for most of the way. We have had fairly moderate temps this summer so I'm sure that is helping. We will see how it does this winter, as Ohio can get cold. There are people on here that can get fabulous mpg and some, not so good. I feel that I am somewhere in the middle. I love that my CMAX has spirit and when I need to step on the gas to get out of the way of that 16 wheeler...glad that it has the power to do it. I am very happy with my CMAX and the mpgs...but it is the most fun car I have ever driven. Previously, had a Honda Civic...boring, boring, boring. No get up and go. Love, love my car!!!! -
My ordered CMAX came in mid-January 2013. I'm at 24,000 + - not quite 25,000. Basically problem free since the clock issue was fixed.

I'm sure there are others on here that can give you the info on the 2015 models. I think I read that not much is changing. I am an early buyer, having ordered mine in Oct 2012, though did not receive until Jan 2013. I have had no mechanical problems at all with the vehicle. I LOVE my Cmax. At the beginning there was a clock issue, but a software update has fixed that issue. I had a 2008 Honda Civic, which had NO energy or pickup...I feel like I have power when I need it with the CMAX. I am currently over 40 mpg lifetime. I was doing a lot of city driving the first 14 months, (15 miles one way) but now a lot of highway as my office moved downtown (about 30 miles from home one way). I have actually seen my mileage improve...but could be because it's summer and we've had a mild one for the most part. There was some bad press for the CMAX, and with the confusion on the MPG didn't help. I think FORD is making a big mistake not advertising this car big-time. It is a GREAT car and a joy to drive.

Re-call 14S04 Delay in safety canopy deployment in roll-over
LizM replied to Laurel's topic in Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls
I received the recall letter this past Wednesday and was able to get an appt on Thursday afternoon...it took about a 1/2 hour. But, I've noticed that my Trip1 view no longer shows the AVG MPG or Gallons Used, while it did in the past. Anyone else noticed this? -
Ford C-max least reliable car in America (Says CR)
LizM replied to Seth7721's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
I love my C-Max, and, yes, would buy it again....I have the SEL - 300A - so no extra options. Kinda wish I had the foot lift gate. I have had my C-Max, special order, since January 2013 and have over 22,000 miles. Lifetime avg mpg is @43.4. Previously I owned a 2008 Honda Civic, which got pretty good mileage, but absolutely no pickup/power and a puny sounding horn. :redcard: -
MFT & Alternate Android Messengers
LizM replied to ScubaDadMiami's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Turning the BT off and on seems to do the trick. I am getting texts while i'm driving. However, a funny thing happened the other day...I received a text one evening that I didn't open all the way on the phone, because I could see the message come up on my phone screen and they were just ending the conversation..saying "good night". Two days later, I get in the car...and not the first time in the car since receiving that text and when I turn the car on the message come across the MFT as a new text message. It was just a funny thing.. -
Interesting theory you bring up. When I first got my Cmax in January 2013, the car on #1 was fine...I notice that this winter I have had it up to 3 a few times. But, we have had a significantly colder/damper winter than we did last year, and I don't think I'm running the heater as much.

When I got mine out the first time, I almost was afraid that I was breaking something. jdbob is right...definitely pull the passenger seat all the way forward. Flashlight helps, too.
