  1. Temp61 My wife's C-Max would not start the second week she had it, mid November. Dealer had it a week due to having to order a module for the ABS system. Was not able to explain how this killed the 12 Volt. Car worked for a few weeks and dead battery again. This time found 12 Volt was bad, probably a result of previous problem. Replaced and now fine. I would think Ford was aware since the had to work with Ford to find ABS problem. For your dealer's possible analysis the vin of this car is 1FADP5AU2DL505205. Good luck. My 2013 Fusion Hybrid's 12 Volt is regularly getting weak enough for Battery Saver to kick in so unable to use Accessory mode.
  2. The software update to "increase charging output which will maintain the 12 volt battery at a higher state of charge" should help all 2013 Ford Hybrid owners regardless of the type of display they have. I have been having the same weak 12 volt battery problem on my 2013 Fusion Hybrid.
  3. That is probably done by Ford so that the car gauge shows a better mileage number than you actually are getting. Keeps the majority of the people who do not check manually happy. My 2013 Fusion constantly reads 2 mpg higher on the gauge than calculated. The same is true for my traded in 2011 Fusion gas only vehicle. My 2006 Honda Accord was spot on comparing car to human calculations. That and the junk navigation system often makes me regret buying this car. If the car got close to advertised mileage they would not have to fudge the mileage calculations.
  4. Take it to the dealer. It should be their problem, not yours. Ford ultimately is paying for the dealer's work on the car. If people make the dealers do what they should eventually Ford may realize there is a problem with Ford Hybrid electrical systems.
  5. My wife has two EV+ locations. Our house and where she goes several times a week, church.
  6. I do not believe you can remove the physical Sirius unit. You could, however, call Sirius and cancel the service.
  7. Recommend Ted Russell Ford Parkside in Knoxville, TN. The first time my wife and I actually liked dealing with the sales staff. The C-Max had the battery problems which took awhile to figure out on their end. However, they were courteous and more than happy to please. Furnished a loaner. Two months after my wife purchase of the C-Max purchased a Fusion Hybrid from them. Had same symptoms as the C-Max battery issue and they promptly replaced mine. They seemed embarrassed that I also had problems.
  8. Dead battery at 1123 miles. Second time. First at about 400 miles end of November, day before brake system failure notification. Dealer replaced a brake system sensor of some type that was keeping car from going into EV mode. All was well until I noticed car was not going into EV as often (wife's car). Yesterday at the dealer for another matter dealing with my 2013 Fusion Hybrid, which is working well, and mentioned this to the sales manager. He said he believed the 12 volt battery was defective and bring it in sometime and he would replace it. Well, this morning the car was totally dead. Called Ford to come jump start it, wife wanted a record of the problem so I was not allowed. Took it in and battery "tested bad in all areas". Received new battery. Driving home seemed to go in and out of EV mode normally.
  9. My wife is trying to learn to use Sync Service for navigation on her Ford C-Max SE without My Ford Touch (Small Display Center of Dash). The problem is that when the system gives directions we get the voice and the turn arrow or distance to turn, etc. displayed for what seems like one or two seconds replacing the radio station data or USB songs during that time. I think there should be a way to change this like from display for a longer time or stay route data on while on an active route. We know we can as for "Next Turn" but do not think this should be necessary. Anyone know how to do this. Prefer knowing how to do it vice asking the dealer who, if he could do it would not be prone to tell how it is done. Thanks in advance.
  10. I think it is a Ford thing to make it look better than it is. If I do a compare after one tank or let it go 3 or 4 tanks on a trip before comparing it always reads 2 mpg to the advantage of the car. This is on my 2011 Ford Fusion. The one tank on my wife's C-Max was 2 mpg to the advantage of the car. It is like the programmer of the car computer wrote the code to add 2 to the car's computed mpg. My old Honda Accord was accurate to the 10th of a mile per gallon which would be to rounding errors at the pump. Also, my Audi A4 was also accurate on it's trip computer. Disappointing. No reason for this except to make mileage look better to very trusting people.
  11. My 2011 Fusion has the Ford navigation system and it does show traffic on the map display. Satellite radio has not been active for 1.5 years. This just started in the last couple of month for some reason. My phone has not been activating sync services or such. Believe the data is from the HD radio in the car. Downloaded and install a Sysnc update that possibly did more than update Sync. Do not know what actually happened but it is nice.
  12. Picked up repaired C-Max this afternoon. The problem was with a brake sensor that apparently caused more than issuing a brake warning light. The sensor prevented proper notification to the computer that allowed the car to run in EV mode. Strange but the car seems ok now. At least my wife had a loaner for the week, was in shop Friday to Friday but Thanksgiving probably slowed the process of getting the part in. Additionally, I just got the vin # on the Fusion Hybrid I ordered for me.
  13. The dealer said they think the problem was with a brake sensor that caused all the problems. They ordered the part Friday and not in yet. Suggested that it should have been shipped over night since the rental car is costing them $35 per day. I can understand the sensor giving brake warning lights but preventing the car from running on electric seems strange to me. Will see what happens in the end.
  14. Wife picked up new C-Max on 3 Nov. On 6 Nov went to start and totally dead. Called Ford Service who sent someone to jump start it. I did not wish to touch it as so new and it being a Hybrid. On 14 Nov while wife was driving the brake warning lights lite up. She pulled off road and shut down car and called home. When restarted all seemed ok, no warning lights or such so told her probably a hiccup and keep an eye on it. I drove and could not recreate. Next day did again and she called and explained problem. I called the Ford Dealer in Knoxville, TN who said to bring in the next day, the15th. I checked car the next morning and got same brake warnings on both displays, left and right side. Driving to dealer brake warnings again and car stayed in gas mode, no EV. Dealer put on computer and said would have to keep for up to a week depending upon if parts needed to be ordered. Wife unhappy. First car that broke in 20 yrs. Traded reliable Honda Accord. Dealer did furnish a loaner but she is concerned about reliability.
