  1. Sure helps to check on maintenance items before doing them, this Forum is great for that. :) Real money saver and its free. :) Paul
  2. 140K miles still going strong, although 70k ICE miles. Paul
  3. I just figured out why my FE has gone up. :) I haven't had my bike on the back of my car for three months, I just put it on last night and lost 2 mpg's.  Paul
  4. This is true, It takes very little rain to adversely effect FE. Paul
  5. I first noticed the noise when the windows were closed with ICE running, IIRC it was quieter in EV. From the time I first heard the noise to when I stopped it was 500 miles and they put it on the rack with ICE running and said it was the trans. Went another 800+ miles and decided I'd better get it fixed, I didn't want to get stuck out in the middle of nowhere. It worked out great for me. :) Paul P.S. It's worth alot to find a real good Dealer/Service Dept to have the CMAX checked/work done, I had mine done 1300 miles from home. :)
  6. You maybe right. LOL :lol2: Actually HWY driving is pretty easy on tires, but City, rough, cindered and twisty roads are hard on tires. Heat could have some effect too, but I make a lot of trips to AZ so I don't think that is a big deal. :) Paul
  7. They only fix what the customer complains about. :drop: Most of the service people have never driven a CMAX. :sos: LOL Paul
  8. For me I heard the change in sound so that wasn't a problem, but I noticed a temperature change about 5k mi. earlier. Dealers won't change Trans on temp change. But it will give you idea that you are going to have a problem in the near future. Paul
  9. With almost 140k on the Michelins I really can't complain in all weather conditions, Not perfect, but good enough. :) Paul
  10. My experience was very good at RICH FORD in Albuquerque, NM, They had already replaced two Trans's so they had experience in checking and doing the job. Got free rental Explorer for two weeks, probably puck 4k mi. on it. :) I got Lucky they were wright along the I-40 FWY. If I knew I was going to have a trans problem I would look for a dealer that has alot of experience replacing trans's to get the best job done. IMO :) Paul
  11. I did a quick inventory check of the Greater Atlanta and only found two Hybrids and one Energi in stock and a few more on order. Apparently FORD isn't making any yet or atleast shipping them. It would appear that most dealers don't have them and FORD isn't encouraging them to order. To me it looks like the lack of sales is caused by the lack of availability. IMO Paul
  12. I wonder what kind of inventories the FORD Dealers have of CMAX Hybrid/NRG's? Paul
  13. The Fall 2016 My FORD magazine features 2017 CMAX Energi with New Wheels. :) Paul
  14. Just filled up and got 57.4 mpg so my average went up to 47.5 mpg on Fuelly. :) Talked to my wife and she doesn't have a problem giving me a hard time about my CMAX driving, but feels bad about sharing it. I think you get the PICTURE. :) Paul
  15. CMAX has excellent brakes as I have Posted before. Plus 4 tires are better than two as demonstrated in video. LOL :) I wondered how they turned off the truck? Paul
  16. I will mention that to my wife to see if she is interested in starting one. LOL  :lol2: It could be a pretty active Thread. :) Paul
  17. I agree with you too. If anything I think MPG's increase a little, the long term looks very good. :) Paul
  18. I have noticed a little loss in HVB capacity which has no effect on MPG's, the only time I notice this is on long down hills when the HVB fillups. In that case it would be nice to have twice the capacity. :) Paul
  19. I know it can be challenging, but I have two personal records taking US80 across Texas, most of the time there wasn't that much traffic and don't think I pulled over more than twice. My point is that you don't have to be an hindrance to traffic. :) The BIG thing is don't be in a hurry, drive the speed limit if you have to for short distances then pull over in a convenient place and let traffic by. This changes driving from a chore to a challenging game. Isn't kind of like a NASCAR Driver on a road course trying to save gas trying to be as efficient as he can. :shift: :number1: :) Paul
  20. SOC (State of Charge) of the HVB(Hybrid Vehicle Battery) and WT (water temp/cylinder head temp) :) If you had a ScanGaugeII you could monitor these numbers, unfortunately I didn't have it setup to show SOC. What kind of mpg do you get going to work? what speeds are you driving home and is there a drop in elevation? :) Paul
  21. Thanks :) Now everyone else go out and do it too. :yahoo: LOL Hit the Post button twice? LOL :) And only if you could delete a Post. Paul
  22. It has been pretty quiet on the MPG Forum so I thought I would Post this to get some more interest in improving your MPG's, If you aren't in in a hurry, Sight Seeing works great you can get impressive FE. I use State Routes instead of Interstate Highways with speed limits 55-65 mph. When you do Post it on this Forum so others can see how you are doing. :) Started in Newnan, GA and drove to Savannah, GA then up the Coast to Georgetown, SC and then came back, I made it to Monticello, GA before filling up 915.4 miles/ 13.7 gal and 66.1 mpg. I figure I still had .3-.4 gallons(18-24 miles before I would have run out.). GPS actual mileage 931.8 mi./13.7 gal.= 68 mpg. :) I was hoping to do better, but I can't seem to get 70 mpg going 65 - 50MPH, at 50 -35 mph P&G I saw over 80 mpg a few times on segments of the trip. :shift: My wife isn't interested in doing any more trips like that, she said I can go by myself. LOL  And it's been almost two years since my last Record. Paul
