  1. Another thing I think should be fixed in a new model is lower the door window sill. My elbow has to go way up too high to rest it on the sill with the window rolled clear down. Anybody else notice this? Admittedly I have the seat as low as it will go; I'm a bit tall and need the head room.
  2. Hi folks. It is good to find some Scangaugers. Mine limits out at 0.06 GPH. I'm guessing that the reason GPH never shows a 0.00, zero, is because when the gasoline engine is not running, the design has a little fuel recycle through the fuel line to keep fresh fuel immediately available when needed. I find these SCANGAUGE numbers are more quickly responsive than the C-Max graphics.
  3. That is what I figured. The "easy fix" way is swap the whole car for an SEL. There are a few things on the SEL that I don't want and the expense of any of this just isn't worth it. So I/we live with the stupid key-slot adventures but will be smarter next purchase time.
  4. Say drdiesel, can we get that what I've called smart key with the push button start added on as an aftermarket thing? I'm OK with most everything on my low line SE and that key slot thing is not going to be an aftermarket fix but it doesn't have to stay that way in future models that use the old style key to start.
  5. Two things: I hope they make the little button on the shift stick, "Overdrive Cancel and Grade Assist", a tactile click switch so you can tell where it is by feeling it and tell that you really changed it. The way it is now it barelly gives any feeling when one presses on it and the only indicator is the little picture in the instrument cluster. The little picture is easily obscured by components on the steering wheel and bright light reflections. I've found myself driving around with it on when I thought I had turned it off. What is the consequence of driving around with it on? Secondly, getting the key to find the ignition slot usually can be unneccesarily awkward. The slot is usually not visible without leaning over to see around the steering wheel and no guidance is offered, like a trough of some sort to get the key headed toward the slot. Until a smart key is standard on everything this should be fixed.
  6. At age 15 my first car was a 1927 Ford Model T pickup. Never licensed it, just drove it around the back roads. Next came a 1947 Ford two door. Pretty nice, would get up to 80 mph quite quickly but on old US 66 with the pedal to the floor indefintely would hardly get over 85. Next came a 1929 Model A sport coupe. Soft top, non convertible, with a rumble seat. A great transportation special. Now at age 82 I'm back to a Ford, the C-Max, got it up to 113 mph going through Panamint valley (next to Death Valley), probably my last car.
