Wab, How did they fix the problem with the whistle

Welcome and congratulations with the new C-Max

I have owned my 2014 Ford C-Max since January, the coldest month in Chicago in years. My overall MPG is 42.7 with 2800 miles on the car. With the warmer temperatures in April, I have averaged around 50 MPG+ around town. I have just completed my first 600 miles per tank of gas. I guess I am very lucky with no problems or trips back to the dealer. I would not trade this car in for nothing.(its FANTASTIC) I have owned 4 brand new Fords in the last three years, and the c-Max is by far the most fun to drive. I would encourage the people having trouble with their cars is to find a good Ford service department, that cares. From what I read on this forum, I think its a small percentage of cars that are having problems. If anyone is thinking about buying a C-Max, test drive one yourself and come up with your own conclusion. GO C-Max Thanks to all the C-Max fans

mtb9153, The tire dames look to me can be added to a 2013. They look like they are a separate unit that snaps in place. The same with rear window air deflectors. Acctually I don't see these aero mods making that much difference to MPG. Just a thought!!

Did my first waxing and detailing of our 2014 C-Max. I used Meguiars NXT Tech Wax 2.0. The wax went on very easily and was a breeze to wipe off. The Ruby Red paint has a very deep shine. The trick to applying is to make sure the wax has fully dried before removal. Love this Car!!! Thanks Ponypower attachment=1232:IMG_0989.JPG]

Kosby, Food for thought, if you buy the 2013 and get the $2500 off, it is one model year older and worth less at trade. Don't forget some of the improvements with the 2014 that are worth the diferance in price.

Congratulations! In Chicago the weather has been terrible. I received my 2014 C Max in January and have 1300 miles on it. My life time mileage so far is 38mpg. As the temps rise I can see my mileage going up. I have hit 45 to 58 on the warmer days. I just love this car!!

I ordered a Ruby Red 2014 SEL, Nav, and Panoramic roof. Waited about 12 weeks. Could not be happier, no problems at all. I was afraid of the 2013's battery problems and being the first year out. My suggestion is to wait and get what you want. The incentives were $1000 cash and o% for 36 mo. on the 2014.

I have been involved in three rear end accidents in the last two years. Each time I was stopped but the person behind me was so close they couldn't stop in time and hit me. One time the guy took off but I caught up to him at the next light. In my personal opinon I don't think it has anything to do with what your driving..Its the people in a hurry or on their phones. The bigger problem I see is some of the truckers on the highway. Just don't pull in front of them or you will get run over.

Congradulations, It took 10 weeks to get my 2014 Cmax . It has been a great car to drive. My problems whats so ever!!! I hope they figured out the battery problem that a lot of the 2013 models had. Good Luck.

I agree with all of you, the engine seems to get dirty in bad weather. I had a 2012 Ford Focus with the same problem. My solution was to wash it off with good automotive car wash soap and apply a plastic / rubber detailer. In the olden days we used flax soap to wash our cars, it made them shiny. So next time you go to clean your engine the dirt comes right off and looks new again. I agree it takes a lot of time to keep our CMax's clean. I also own a 1966 Ford Mustang convertible and after every show I need to detail the car. It never ends!!! PS Griots Garage sells a really good engine cleaner and detailer. Thanks Ponypower

Yes, I also went on Fords web site and they mention the ECVT. Its probably the same trans.

I found it mentioned when you google Ford CMax transmission. I also seen a few dealers that say CVT and 2 speed w/OD at the dealers. Thanks

Does anyone know the difference between the eCVT and the 2 speed CVT w/OD? Are they the same? I have been reading the 2014 CMax have the 2 speed. Thanks

My cMax gets 50% better gas millage than my last car. (2012 Ford Focus) Its also a blast to drive, doesn't that count. A Very Happy CMax owner!!!

I have been told if you have rain sensing wipers you must get the Ford Carlite windshield or they will not work?

Last week I took ownership to my 2014 C-Max SEL, 303A package, Ruby Red with Panoramic Roof. The order took about 12 weeks. What a blast to drive!! I am still on my first tank of gas with over 375 miles on the car and about 1/4 left in the tank. I know as the car breaks in and my driving improves the millage will increase. The Chicago weather has been terrible and I think that effects the gas millage. I am still learning to drive the car to get the best gas millage. I think the C Max is Fords best kept secret. I am reviewing the older posts on how to drive the car. Thanks to all my C-Max friends for the tips they provide on this web site. Thanks Ponypower50
