  1. Not to quibble, but the compressor runs off the high-voltage battery in the C-Max.
  2. The wallpaper is always just the background - the foreground content can't be turned off. For the MFT version you may have to sign up on SyncMyRide.com, set up a bluetooth phone, then run a health-report from the car.
  3. No, I wish. This picture was from the release that came out in December. Somebody had posted a link to the TSB, that in turn had a link to the file. I tried installing it back then and got a message that it required a trip to the dealer to be installed. But then I went digging around in the update files, and was surprised to find content for hybrid vehicles and all these various body styles, even though they said there was no hybrid version yet. I guess they're just doing a staggered release so they won't get inundated with update requests all at once, and hybrids are at the back of the queue.
  4. Here is a link to the PowerFlow screen from the 3.5.1 update. It's normally in SWF (Shockwave Flash) format, and has a frame for each body style. If you click the picture you can see the animation. http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/index.php?/gallery/image/281-powerflow/

  6. I'd like to see some anchor-points up near the ceiling in the rear cargo area. I'd like to be able to put up a cargo net at times, so that I could stack things up in the back above seat level, and not have it all spill over into the back seat.
  7. I wonder if this version will allow AppLink. I'd love to be able to control TuneIn Radio or maybe Pandora from the car screen.
  8. Base SEL (300A), built in December - no problems at all (unless you count setting the clock a couple of times, which I don't.) About 1700 miles.
  9. When I used the term engine-braking, I meant the motor being used as a generator while coasting, not traditional ICE engine-braking. So what's the explanation for the high-MPG ICE mode that can occur when the battery is fully charged?
  10. I'd like to see a mode available where the battery would only be charged via regen and via engine-braking during deceleration and hill descent. Getting the recharge load off the ICE would put it in the high-mileage mode that's been observed. You'd still get the benefit of startup assist from energy captured during regen. I have a feeling that the ICE is getting a bad MPG reputation when it's the recharge that's eating a lot of it. There's a clear win in recapturing energy that would have gone to heat with normal braking, but using the engine to charge the battery can't be all that efficient. Just my $0.02 worth.
  11. What steering adjustments do you want that it doesn't already have?
  12. So how's that going to do in a Texas summer when it hits 105 for 20 days in a row?
  13. (If you can see it, here's the one I wanted to use: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/index.php?/gallery/image/254-sp-anim/ )
  14. I've watched a USB-powered LED fade all the way out when plugged into the console, so I know they can power down. It all depends on the sequence of events, including opening and closing the doors. But even at that, those USB ports probably only supply 500ma of current. A car battery should have enough current capacity to run that for weeks.
  15. That part was about non-Hybrids with auto-start, where they have to use a regular starter motor, so they need the deep-cycle battery. For the Hybrids, it's just the reverse. The 12V battery doesn't start the car so it can be smaller.
  16. I'm trying to mount it as a drive. I wonder if it's because it always connects first in HTC Media mode, and by the time I can switch it, Sync has already rejected it. On a PC, that media-mode seems a mixed blessing. It doesn't have to dismount/remount the SD in the phone, but some programs don't know how to deal with the file path (like my favorite photo viewer).
  17. Alas, it's a low-res screen, that only does video through the composite-video input, that only works while in Park. I hadn't used anything with composite video in years. I wish they had used HDMI, and also allowed MFT to play video files. So does anybody else's phone, when plugged into the C-Max USB, cause an unsupported-format message? Mine does, even though it shows up on my PC as FAT32 format. (It's a Sprint HTC Evo 4g LTE.)
  18. I've wanted sun visors with a slide-out panel to cover the whole width of the side windows ever since I started driving (decades ago). I usually drive with the seat all the way back, and during commutes, the sun is right in that gap, glaring in my eyes. I don't know if there's some DOT, NTSB, etc. guideline against it, or what. In my truck, I've taken to putting a utility-pouch-thing on the visor that I can slide further out when I have the visor pivoted. How about ability to add a 3rd Intelligent Access key-fob without requiring a trip to the dealer. [in the mean-time, dealers that are trained on how to do it.] I hate to bring it up, but Ford should look into why grill covers are improving the MPG. (And I only think the brakes are grabby when they're wet. Maybe they take longer to break-in because they don't get used much?)
  19. For the problems the C-Max has been exhibiting, I'd go with a battery powered jump-starter rather than a charger like a Tender. It doesn't need much current, just enough to wake up the system, so it can be small. If I were to do it over, I'd probably go with something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Mighty-Jump-Car-Starter/dp/B008S8HI1K/ref=sr_1_40?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1360027262&sr=1-40
  20. Yep - the AC compressor uses an electric motor powered off the HV battery, so it doesn't need the ICE, (Until you run the HV battery down so low that the ICE runs to recharge it.)
