  1. I dunno - with all the road-grime that seems to get sucked onto the back of a C-Max, I'm not sure I'd want the back window open, unless maybe just when parked.
  2. Strangely enough one of the few cars I've had where I could make a U-turn on a small residential street, was a big ol' 72 Volvo station wagon! I think it had a tighter turning radius than the Escort we got after that. I suppose it's easier to make rear-wheel-drive cars with a tight radius than FWD because they don't have to worry about the U-Joints for the drive axles.
  3. You're not missing much - with my Android phone (but not with my wife's for some reason), it will read incoming texts, but it's usually just about unintelligible. It also won't display the text of the message on the screen while you're driving, causing people to take their eyes off the road even more to pick up the phone and look at it. Maybe the next MFT update will support Applink and I can have a phone-app read the messages using its text-to-speech which is much better than Sync's.

  5. No, that means that if you go to the top-level page of that section of the forum, you will see that topic "pinned" to the top of the list, rather than having to dig for it: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/index.php?/forum/3-lounge/
  6. I would figure that any non-reversible tap into the HV connections would void the warranty at least for all the hybrid components. I'd only do it if I could come up with the same connectors that Ford used and not have to cut a wire anywhere.
  7. Just curious - why track just with the 203 package? (A base SEL is an SE with the 300A package.)
  8. Wow- No sightings till today, then 2 in 1 day. Saw a grey one go by my office, then was behind an ice-blue most of the way home.
  9. Ah, sorry, my bad. I think I only read as far as: Playlist Export, a native Mac OSX application based on iTunes Export is available in the Mac App Store. Check it out! before my eyes glazed over and I closed the window. [Note to self: Stop clicking Post before checking your facts!]
  10. That's really strange. All the letters and numbers were available when I did it. I guess you'll have to change your wifi password to tctcctctttctct or something. :-) I'm seeing others with this same problem over on the Owner to Owner forum, even after upgrading to 3.5.1: http://boards.synccommunity.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?tsn=29&nav=messages&webtag=fordsyncmb&tid=5590
  11. Not to quibble, but the link in the OP was to an external MAC app called iTunes Exporter, not just using iTunes to do an export. I'd much rather just plug in my Android phone and have it use that as a drive, but it says it's an unsupported USB device, and to please unplug it. I'll try doing an export from iTunes or a sync from WMP and see how that goes.
  12. Since people have measured 5-6 volts on their battery when this happens, I think it really is discharged. It's just that instead of having to get enough charge into the battery to run a starter motor, which is by far the biggest load in a normal car, the C-Max starts by getting the lithium battery to run the electric motor. So the only load on the 12V battery is to power up the electronics and relays.
  13. I wondered that too, since it won't use it to send health reports. All I can figure is that it could share that back out as a hotspot, which is pointless because people could just connect to the router instead.
  14. Ours do grab a bit when they're wet. Otherwise I hardly notice the transition from regen to brakes.
  15. There may be a little bit of truth to that, but never letting it get below half full is ridiculous. The fuel is pulled from the lowest point in the tank anyway, then goes through the fuel filter. Particles have to be microscopic to make it through the filter. Yeah if you always try to practically coast into the gas station on fumes you might clog the filter a little sooner. With the exception of one car that shall remain nameless, in decades of driving I think I've only had one fuel filter changed.
  16. I agree that this is a display issue - I'm sure it's often blending both on acceleration if there's battery available. I'm looking forward to the new MFT display that may show more about the energy flow. Thanks - I couldn't find a clear explanation online anywhere. I don't mind it charging while coasting, since that's not using extra gas. And I do enjoy using as much EV as possible, but no system is 100% efficient, and I wonder if overall it would save gas to not charge while cruising on the ICE. I wonder if there will ever be Ford tweaks to the EV behavior or even alternate ROMs.
  17. Is anyone seeing C-Max commercials during network shows, not just MSNBC or HGTV? If so, are they the Ford line-drawing ad, some new Ford-produced ad, or a local dealership? Just curious. I hadn't seen a single one till I watched about 2 hours of MSNBC just to spot one, and it was the line-drawing, which is several months old by now.
  18. I was just saying the other day that I bet we get 100K miles on a set of brake pads. I did find myself wiping brake dust off the wheels early on, but I haven't noticed any since. Off-topic, but I love that there's no starter motor to go bad, no power steering pump, fluid or hoses, and now that I think about it, probably no belts except timing.
  19. I'm wishing the C-Max hybrid had something like EV-Later mode on the Energi. I'd like to be able to charge the battery just by regen-braking and not put a load on the gas engine, just to see how that would affect the overall MPG. For you Energi owners, does EV-Later skip charging the battery while accelerating, or just skip going into EV mode?
  20. If you have a bluetooth-enabled phone with you, try turning off bluetooth. I found that was the trick with mine, although it makes no sense.
  21. I was blown away to hear that driverless cars have been approved for the road in several states. As a tech geek I think that's really cool. But I can't believe that any politician or government official would go out on a limb like that. All it'll take will be one injury accident, not necessarily even "the car's fault" and I bet that'll be suspended.
  22. Strange - I looked at the panel in our SEL today while we were out... It's there, but it's totally flush with the rest of the plastic, with no center screw, and no clips. They must have changed the build at some point. Mine was built in December - how 'bout yours?
  23. Hmm - My CB750C is 6 years older than the first Concours. Maybe somebody's come up with an add-on fuel sender and gauge by now.
  24. It's not the nav version, but the Sync version that's 3.1.3. If you go to SyncMyRide.com (are you signed up there?), it should say, although that may be after doing a health-check from the car.
