  1. I have four I rotate. Death Valley, Zabriskie Point at sunrise Sun City, AZ at sunrise View from Tonto Nat. Monument, AZ Blue Ridge Pkwy
  2. The Husky's are the same too. I used the Husky's from my Escape in my C-Max.
  3. The Weather Techs are a fine product and I've used them in the past, but I now swear by Husky Liners. If you live in the snow belt, I've found the Husky's are easier to remove from the car without spilling melted snow on the carpet because they are flexible. The Weather Techs are rigid and takes some careful maneuvering to get them out of the car, where you can bent the Husky's to contain the water. If it's dirt, mud or ice cream you're dealing with, the Weather Techs are great. Also, the Husky's cover more of the dead pedal and extend farther up the fire wall behind the pedals. Here's a link to the C-Max page of the Husky site. http://www.huskyliners.com/product-detail/?category=17
  4. I have ordered LED replacement lamps for my tail and stop lights and amber for the turn signals. I received the amber turn signal lamps today. I installed one bulb and checked it for polarity and brightness and it was blinking erratically. Was the blink sequence off because I hadn't replaced both sides? I decided to put the incandescent bulb back for now until the other LED lamps arrive.
  5. I'm going to have to fiddle with mine a little more. I just remember the A/C did not come on in my 2013 Escape unless that was the last setting. I guess I'm not sure now how it happened or what I did, but the way I was turning it on did not activate the A/C. I guess it's like the saying goes, put 100 monkeys in a room with typewriters and eventually they will type out Hamlet. That sums me up with the climate control in my Escape.
  6. I take back everything I said. I checked this morning and any button turned on the AC. I haven't had to use my AC this year and my response was based on the climate control in my Escape, I assummed they were the same. I do believe whether or not the AC comes on is based on outdoor temperature. I guess anything that takes your eyes off the road for a second is a distraction, but compared to how often I look at my info screen, looking to press the AC button was not a big deal.
  7. How are you turning it on? If you hit the AC button, obviously it comes on and if you have it on Auto it will come on. Try taking it off Auto and turn it on by pressing the on/off button, or a fan speed button, or a vent option button from the lower row. I've found, by pressing the vent buttons or fan speed, it turns on to the last setting.
  8. But the power plant is going to be running regardless of demand. Yes, it's going to reduce the amount it generates because demand is lower at night, but it will never be an equal ratio, the plant has to generate more than demand. My Energi consumes so little electricity to charge, it and every other electric vehicle on the grid doesn't come close to consuming the extra power that's wasted by over generation.
  9. One other thing it might be, and this is just a guess, the valve stem may not be tight and screwed down all the way. If they checked for leaks with the cap on, it may not have shown a leak at the filler end.
  10. That's one of the nice features of the C-Max, great interior passenger volume and it's actually the same and more in a couple of categories than the 2013 Escape. I believe Ford calls the C-Max a MAV, Muti Activity Vehicle. Apparently, in Marc's case, multi means carrying In-Laws.
  11. I had a 2012 Focus with the DCT and it took a little getting used to. I check in on the Focus Fanatics forum from time to time and Ford seems to have resolved in the 2014's many of the hard shift and lurching issues in the 2012-2013's. I also had a 2005 Freestyle with the Gertag CVT. I never had problems, but the Freestyle forums are full of posts of folks having issues, mostly bearings and seals if I recall. Of course, there's probably many more Gertag CVT's out there without problems, you all know how forums can be when it comes to problems. I got spooked and sold my Freestyle because I worried about CVT repairs and parts availability and from what I understand, it has become difficult to get parts. I enjoyed the CVT back then and I agree, this eCVT is smooth as silk.
  12. I guess I wasn't very clear. Lightly strike in different areas of the wheel and in the areas where there are no defects there will be a ringing tone and in the area where there is a defect the tone wont ring and sound like just metal on metal. Now, this method may not work because the tire rubber in contact with the wheel. I don't know, it was just a suggestion. It's not really my problem, so I'll stay out of it.
  13. If they also submerged the wheel as they rotated the tire, that would have shown a leak. As an art metal caster, I've read a little on metallurgy and I'm not an expert by any means, but if there was a defect, crack or inclusion in the casting that allowed air under pressure to pass through, the casting will eventually fail. Try striking the wheel lightly and carefully with a metal object, if there's a crack, it will make a different sound.
  14. Those look like pretty good deals. The question I always have with pre owned is why did they trade or sell it after only one year or less, maybe it's one with some of those with early build issues. Plus, 16000+ miles seems like a lot for a 2013, at least with the 2014, they're all your miles and you know how they got there.
  15. Wow, that's pretty freaky, it must have scared the "breakfast" out of you, glad you weren't injured. I have an Energi and love it. It's identical to the Hybrid in every other way, plenty of interior passenger space with quality materials, fit and finish. I've only been a passenger in a Prius once, and wasn't that impressed with the interior layout and materials. I'm not bashing them, I just think Ford really raised the bar in the catagory. My suggestion, start looking at the pre owned pages on local dealership web sites, cars.com, you know the regular approach and hope you come across one. You may have to chip in a couple of thousand to get a pre owned C-Max, they haven't been out there too long and although trade in value may be low, resale value is still up there. Good luck and I hope you settle on the C-Max.
  16. If you're lubing the rubber door seals, just a suggestion to use silicon lubricant and not petroleum based lube, such as WD-40. WD-40 (or any petroleum base) will break down the rubber over time where a silicon will not.
  17. Were the windows closed when you had the rear door closing issue? These and all quality modern cars are pretty air tight. I've had this happen too.
  18. Sounds like the best solution. Rather than find out what it might be, the service department can tell you what it is. So, what is it...
  19. I found this list: http://www.edgeproducts.com/product_images/customer_support_article-pdf-41.pdf Seems C indicates Chassis and it looks like from the list it covers a lot of components. I didn't spend much time checking for your codes. Hopefully this will help. Sounds like a trip to the service department is now on your schedule.
  20. Why no RCM update? 38 all around on my 2014 Energi.
  21. There's an older version of the site, but I'm not sure if it's still available: owner.ford.com or there's: support.ford.com
  22. I got an e-mail from the service dept. congratulating me on being proactive in servicing my car, so I checked the Ford Owners site to see if the dealership entered the service. They didn't enter the reprogramming service, but the recall notice was gone and it stated there are no active recall notices for my vehicle. Done and done.
  23. Rebecca, are these commands to see the next rest area on the map, or will it display all the rest areas along the route? Say your approaching a rest area and you think to yourself, do I or don't I have to... will the next RA be displayed if you scroll or enlarge the map view?
  24. The recall notice was posted on my Ford Owners page. If you haven't set one up, you should. Not only does it inform you of any recalls, it's a place to document service. The dealership will enter any service, it's a good way to keep a record of DIY oil and filter changes and a place to get discount coupons for parts and service, I once found a coupon for $18 each, including installation, for a wipers set and air filter for my Escape. You can also easily access information videos and owners and warranty manuals.
  25. I took mine in today and it took 34 minutes from the time he checked me in, until the time the work order was closed.
