When we were at the dealership, there was a Focus and C-max side by side and I was showing her the difference with visibility and how the C-max has way more of it. How does the C-max make music more enjoyable? Next oil change they are going to let us test drive one for a few days to see if we like it.

We were in the showroom the other day and my wife is insisting we just get a Focus since they are cheaper in price compared to a C-max. How do I convince her that the C-max is better?

Just Spoke to a dealer in Michigan who said the 2014 C-max model will be gone by September and the 2015 model will arrive. She said they don't have year end model deals in November/ December. Since our last payment is in December, is it better to do an early bird offer if they have one in Sep or October or wait and get a 2015 model?

Looks like the C-max is getting two new colors. Tectronic silver and Magentic . Wish they would do a deep impact Blue.

The main problem we face is our lease isn't up until December. Unless Ford has an Early Bird offer there probably won't be the 2014 models left. I'm wondering will there be new colors for the 2015 model?

Well that's a relief the drivers seat does go up and down. As long as my wife finds the cloth seats comfortable and easy adjustment for the seat then She will be fine with the SE and doesn't need the SEL. I know she likes the intelligent access but says she can live without. Don't really know why the online rep wouldn't know it has a height adjustment on it. The Escape we have now has leather seats and she loves the comfort of them. Our other car is a 2014 fusion with cloth seats and she has a hard time getting comfortable. Maybe it's best to test drive both models to see the comfort level as it's different for everyone. Did anyone bring their salesperson along for a test drive?

So talking with a rep on Ford's chat service online I asked about the 6 way manual seats on the SE if you could raise the seat up. I was told it does't raise up which if true is a deal breaker for me. Sad because the SE had the power liftgate and nav package, winter package also. In order to get the power liftgate I'd have to add another 2,000 to the Base SEL.

1. On the 2015 model is there an order guide out yet specifying the changes, colors etc ? 2. When is the 2015 C-max expected to be in showrooms ? 3. On the 2014 model how well does it do in crash tests? My wife was rear ended when she was backed up on a freeway exit. She drove a Fusion then and now drives an Escape so I know it's a size difference. 4. If you live in a snowy state, how has it held up as far as handling etc ? 5. If candy blue is no where to be found if we lease a C-max , whats the next good color when it comes to hiding dirt, scratches goes? 6. If you do live in a colder state such as we live in Mi, is it worth the extra for the winter package? 7. Can you get an Engine block heater on the C-max? 8. Our lease isn't up until December so is it best to wait until then to lease the 2015 model or turn it in early say October if Ford has an early bird lease program going on? 9. I Love the fog lights on the Escape as they do help with visibility at night. How does the SE model without them fare as far as visibility goes? Are the lights bright enough to see what's on the road? The reason I ask is because we have a 2014 Fusion and I didn't get fog lights on it and the lights are ok but they are a bit weak.

How does the dirt show up on this car? I know we have a black escape and it shows dirt like crazy.

Our Ford dealership has an excellent service and sales department. That's what won my wife and I over. Remember it was a rainy Monday afternoon and I said let's go to Roy O'brien Ford. As soon as we walked in we were greeted. Our salesman didn't pressure us and that's a big no no with us if he would have done that.

There are spy shots that were taken of the S-max spotted in the US which means Ford may be bringing it here. Don't know why else it would be here?

I am wondering my wife takes the expressway to work 5 days a week. She does do city driving. In Mi our speed limit is 70 mph on expressways and some smaller ones are 55-60. For ones that are 70 should we set Eco cruise to 65? Also when accelerating from a light is it best to give it the gas so you don't tick off the cars behind you?

I'm debating on the power driver seat as the manual only goes 4 way. Reclining option must be nice though. We have power driver seat in our Escape currently. That chart is good to look at it does point out the differences.

So what is so grand about the SEL model over the SE? Are the manual seats really that bad to use?? We have yet to test drive a 2014 model with the cloth seats. Can you get an SE without the winter package but includes the my ford touch , backup cam , rear sensing system? Maybe it's best to test drive both models??

Where as my commute is 90 % city with speeds of 40 mph-55mph. So she would get + 14 mph more with the C-max than her escape. A salesman was explaining to me it would only be in gas mode for a short period on the expressway and once it was up to speed it would go back in Ev mode. There's also a bigger rebate of 1,000 to buy vs lease of only 250.00 at the moment. Maybe they'll have a better lease deal as they start clearing out the current model.

I have a 2014 Fusion, not the eco boost model and the best I have gotten has been 31 mpg but in most cases I average around 26-28 combined. Our escape we love but the best we can get is 24 mpg combined. I did check a C-Max out at the dealership and peeked in the window and noticed it does have a lot of headroom. We pay 200 now in gas for our Escape if gas is near 4.00. My wife commutes 5 days a week to work on the highway and some city driving. I'm curious as to how many less fill ups we would do. On a 2 year lease I was quoted 370 a month for 12,000 miles a year. My wife used to never consider a C-max but she is now if we're able to save a good amount of gas a month.
