Form my quick look doing what you suggested, seemed like a $100 difference for the used version compared to the new. I looked at a fusion using the same method, and it too was 100 dollars. For me, 100 dollars extra, versus possibly saving over a grand is worth the trade off of waiting I think. Although, in three years, the price of the warranty may go way up if there are a lot of problems with the C-max too. The whole idea of a warranty is a gamble of course.

According to rail company it was probably placed at their customers location. They then have to truck it from there to your dealership. All guesses on my part.

I was thinking of not buying the extended warranty. After three years (when the new car warranty expires) I can then decide whether to buy the extended warranty or not. If I have had a lot of problems with the car by then, then I would probably purchase the warranty. If I had not had any problems, then I would probably pass. Anyone see a downside to this?

I saw on a Video somewhere that they said it was a packaging issue. They couldn't make the cargo area flush. That's what happens when you are trying to take an existing platform and shove a battery pack into it.

Anyone noticed a problem starting in Reverse?

Maybe it takes a few seconds to go into and out of neutral. Have others who experienced this problem also overshot and went to Neutral first by mistake? I know its sounds funny, but I'm just throwing this out there. -
Hi neighbor. i live in Mesa, and have not seen a single C-Max on the road. (Don't have mine yet.)

Sync Freeze Issues (Navigation)
zhackwyatt replied to seattlerain's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
This sounds like a really good idea, it may at least improve performance. I hope someone tries this. I found this on this article from 2010: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2367161,00.asp -
C-MAX Hybrid Forum: How Can We Make This Site Better?

Doesn't work for me anymore. I've had to switch to past 24 hour view until it gets fixed. -
Edmunds had 12v battery problems on their 2010 Fusion Hybrid: http://blogs.insideline.com/roadtests/2010/11/2010-ford-fusion-hybrid-heres-the-conclusion-to-stranded.html Your was due to the instrument panel, but it seems that more than one person has had problems with the 12v on this forum. And looking around at the past fusion hybrids, they had a lot of problems on their 12v batteries as well. :headscratch: I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that the battery is never used to start the engine, like in a traditional vehicle. So the load on the battery is different?

Yeah thats the same thing that happened to me. My *new* eta moved from the 11/15 to 11/26

Yes they did. After they realized their mistake, they got the order prioritized, the VIN says it was built on 11/7 w/ an estimated delivery date sometime this week. We will see how if that holds up though :)
-
Yes, but from my understanding the Retail System isn't required for all vehicles. So it may be an easy mistake to make. The system doesn't complain when the date was missing, but the order just sits there and goes nowhere if it isn't. Of course, this is all what the dealer told me and since I don't have access to their systems, I don't know exactly how it all works.
-
I was told that as well. The problem with my order (as told by my dealer) is that the C-Max also has to go through the "Retail Verification System". In that system my order didn't have a date so it wasn't complete, eventhough the other system showed Unscheduled - Clean. After they talked with their rep, they discovered the problem. I ordered mine at the end of July and still don't have it. (Supposedly I'm should get it sometime this week though.)

What color do you perfer?
zhackwyatt replied to mightydog's topic in Appearance: Detailing, Wash & Wax
I ordered Ruby Red Exterior and Charcoal black interior. I really like the combination of the two. -
A couple of other things: check out http://truecar.com/ it might show some insights as for a good price. Also, if you can go with Xplan it makes things a lot easier (no haggling and a good price). My company has it for their employees. You can check out http://www.blueovalf...-an-x-plan-pin/ if your's doesn't, you may get lucky there.

In my experience, Ford dealers vary greatly in their service. Currently I have a wonderful dealer that does service on my car. My parents, who live in another state, can't find anyone to fix an oil leak in their Explorer after 2 weeks. Maybe http://www.dealerrater.com/ will help some?
-
What about getting the interior protection package with the rubber floor mats? Or aftermarket ones.
-
Maybe its just me, but I have never had a need for a key light. Maybe its because I've driven the same vehicle for 9 years, but I can find the key hole and start it w/ my eyes closed.

My name being Curtis, my friends have started calling me C-Max...and I don't even have the car yet!

I rented a 2013 Escape last weekend with My Ford Touch (no navigation) and I had a problem where the clock was stuck. I just set the current time and that fixed the problem.

High hopes for the C-Max and the Extended Warranty as a hedge.

Aren't the hybrid components (including the battery) included in the factory warranty? "The following hybrid parts are covered during this extended coverage period: high-voltage battery, hybrid continuously variable transmission, Inverter System Controller (ISC), DC/DC converter, high-voltage battery connector, battery pack fan assembly, thermistor probe, Hybrid Battery Pack Sensor Module (HBPSM), Battery Energy Control Module (BECM), and the PHEV onboard charger." http://www.ford.com/...ridWarranty.pdf Here is what I'm thinking. You get the 7 year premium care warranty. Assuming the hybrid components are at greater risk of breaking, you will have double coverage of the hybrid components (the extended and the new car factory warranties). The new car warranty covers up to 8 years on hybrid components, and the premium would only cover 7. As for the non-hybrid components, if you get the 7 year warranty then you are really only purchasing 4 years of bumper to bumper coverage. Because the new car warranty covers the first 3. So unless I'm missing something, the question is, is it worth the price for four years of warranty coverage of components that have a lower risk of breaking than other components on the car. -
Remote Start Questions
zhackwyatt replied to CNCGeek's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
That is funny because the one on this page: http://www.ford.com/cars/cmax/accessories/Feature3/#page=Feature3 Shows the bi-directional one. Also, why not let the car remain on if you have not yet programmed a mykey?
