  1. Both were off when I originally picked up the car. I have had them on since then.
  2. Has anyone had a dead battery in a location other than their house? Seems like almost everyone is finding the CMax dead in their garage (as all 3 of my failures)... - As wrbrooks suggested - could EV+ be continuing to search using GPS thru the night? - Could bluetooth be searching for our smartphones that are possibly in range thru the night? Another question we may ask is if all/some failures are occurring with paired smartphones? I just left the car at an airport for a week, and it started right up. Wondering if this would be the case if it was left at home? More food for thought....
  3. Thanks for the info, I was mistaken, 13-04-13 was done on May 8 with the 13-5-1. I don't have MFT. Just got my CMax back from my dealer, and below is my service report info: My complaint: "Battery dead third time since owned vehicle. First time since tsb performed. Lost Bluetooth, steering wheel buttons left side working intermittently" Included my case number with Ford Customer Service. Dealer: "Unable to verify Customer concern. Performed ECC test, found low batt codes for ABS module. Performed Battery test, passed battery test, performed paracidic draw test, found .010 amp draw, well within spec, may have interm concern drawing on battery, will need to continue testing once response from tech line advises which direction to go in. Was advised by Ford tech line to check connectors, C140, C1812, C1651, C134 for water intrusion - Found no water intrusion in connectors but did find that top of box for PCM is not sealed. Top of box has warped allowing water to enter box and into PCM cavity. Removed Left front Inner fender well to access PCM, removed, found no corrosion in pins for PCM connectors, No water in connectors at this time. It is raining today, so I am making sure to go thru every possible puddle and let it sit at overnight at the house. So far all 3 failures have been in my driveway/garage. I know for sure last failure was the day after rain, and then sitting over night. Dealer wants me to have the dead CMx towed in and not jumped when it happens again. Thanks for all your help everyone. Sure would be nice to have this fixed.
  4. I don't have MFT in my CMax. Believe I just got the 13-5-1. Thanks
  5. It rained the day before, and I did drive in the rain. It sat in the garage for 24 hours before I attempted to restart. The previous times were a few months ago, and i don't remember. But over this past weekend, it was very rainy..interesting. Thanks for the email.
  6. Had the TSB 13-5-1 installed by the local dealer about 3 weeks ago. CMax SE found dead over the weekend in the garage. Jumped it myself, and notified the local dealer and Ford Customer Service yesterday. This is my third DOA. Here are some interesting occurrences: Each of the dead batteries occurred at my home, battery failed after 12 hours of non-use After I jumped the battery, I moved the CMax out of the garage into the driveway, shut it down, then immediately re-started it without the jump-pack, no problem starting Since the TSB update and subsequent battery failure, "My View" doesn't remember my view, keeps switching to 'miles to go and mpg" when I tell it to do otherwise. Appointment is slated for Monday. Will advised what Ford/Dealer finds...
  7. Second time the battery was found dead in my SE, this time at 5100 miles. Dead after sitting over night. Traveled about 60 miles last night on the highway. Jumped it myself with my portable powerpack. Called Ford customer service and the rep said that they had a CMax meeting this morning, and there would be a fix for the battery charging and clock coming out in 2 weeks. The dealers are supposed to notify us when the fix is ready. . .
  8. 2peaches2oranges - When my SE died last month, the clock was stuck exactly like yours. It advanced 1 minute each time I started the car. I couldn't reset the time by pressing the 'clock' pushbutton on the console, but was finally able to reset the clock and date by accessing time/date thru the 'menu' push button on the front console. I don't have the MyFordTouch in my SE, but rather the push button version of radio. After going thru menu/clock, the clock has been running properly for about 2 weeks...(so far)
  9. I keep my interior displays at about 50% dimmed. I have had 1 battery failure with no resolution from Ford. Cmax returned after a week at the dealer 'awaiting instruction from Ford engineers"
  10. Thanks, I voted 'don't know yet' since the CMax was just returned after 1 week with no findings, but awaiting Ford's recommendations.
  11. Dead 12V - 2/22/13 @ 3500 miles. Dead in the morning after driving the previous night, left outside thru the night. SE basic, 200A . No electric hatchback. Standard radio, No NAV. Built 11/12
  12. Just got my CMax back from my Ford dealer after last week's dead battery, and there were no parts replaced and nothing repaired for now. I got a copy of the dialogue between the technician and the hotline assistance, and here are some of the highlights: Tech: Vehicle came in for 'no start' condition due to low 12V battery charge. FCDIM clock display is wrong and will not change time. Performed ECC test. No hard faults, tried resetting clock, disconnected battery. No change. Ford replied: "This concern can be caused by APIM issue. Clock info is received by GPSM, and transferred to the APIM, which sends info to the BCM, which applies the time offset, and then distributes the corrected time to all the modules which require it" "It is recommended to again perform a battery disconnect, touching battery cables together briefly while battery is disconnected, reevaluate the concern. If the concern is still present, then APIM is at fault, recommend replacing APIM" A few days later, the tech reported that fault was still present after following Ford's instructions above, and ordered APIM. While removing parts preparing for new APIM, clock was still reading incorrectly with APIM disconnected. Soon after this comment from the tech, Ford replied that "Engineering is currently aware of and investigating a clock inaccuracy issue on GEN1 and GEN2 Sync equipped vehicles. We understand that you were instructed to order and replace the APIM, but at this time we do not feel that replacing the APIM will address this issue. Engineering is currently not recommending any repair attempts for this type of clock inaccuracy at this time. . . . " BTW my car is an SE with no options - the basic 200A package, built in November 2012. I don't know if any of this has anything to do with everyone else's battery problems, but it's interesting. And my car is sterling grey. I talked with one of the techs at Ford today while I was waiting, and he said he had a CMax SEL battery fail because the owner left the key fab for the 'push-to-start" option in the car overnight, and the module that senses the key fab never went to sleep, since the fab was continuously transmitting.. My dealer says they will call me when Ford has a fix for the clock/battery issue. I bought a portable jump charger on the way home. Don't leave home without it.
  13. Interesting, my CMax is still at my Ford Dealer (in Maine) since last Friday and after my dead battery. After jumping, my clock was stuck at 1:09, never updated. They ordered a replacement "APIM" - some type of power module for the radio/clock etc, but then was told by Ford not to install it until further tests are done...(probably on mbedit's Cmax)...I called Ford's customer care last Friday, and they called me on Monday filling me in on the APIM delay. I have the SE with 3500 miles, purchased Dec 2012. I saw it today at the dealer, all sorts of covers are removed in the cabin, exposing tons of wires and connectors.
  14. My CMax is getting the replacement ECM for 'accessories' on Monday. I was told that it was for the radio/comms etc. I will clarify on Monday when I speak to Ford. The info was coming from the service advisor (scheduler), I'm not too sure of her technical ability.
