  1. To my astonishment, the dealer just emailed me with the VIN and said the car should arrive at the dealer the week of March 25th. :happy feet: I placed the order on Feb. 6th, so not quite 60 days! He originally said 12 to 16 weeks, so I was thinking May sometime! Yaaa!! The VIN is not showing up in the tracking system yet, and I don't have enough posts to have the person at Ford to provide an update. More patience...;-) :baby: JohnnOhio, when does yours arrive?
  2. I posted this in another forum sometime ago. I hear lots of debates about the EPA testing. If you really take the time to study the tests, and more importantly the environment, conditions and duration of the test, it is very (very) feasible to achieve the EPA numbers. The graphs are very telling.... Curious to see what the team here thinks...... Note: look at the "Highway" test speeds; they never exceed 60 MPH, with an average of 48 MPH. However, they have added the 3 new tests. My guess is, if some geeky soul (such as I, but I'm patiently waiting for mine) followed to the letter of these tests with their car --after it's break in period and with the same conditions as their lab............. Note2: they also mention: "The EPA has established testing criteria for electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids that are slightly different than those for conventional vehicles." I'm wondering if this implies regular hybrids follow the convention test cases? http://www.fuelecono...schedules.shtml I've read with great interest the fuel mileage debate regarding C-max actual economy vs EPA Ratings. Here are the tests the EPA uses to determine the ratings. Based on what I've read across the forums, people who drive within the same parameters of the EPA tests, are achieving (or very closely) the EPA estimates. Also --based on forum comments-- temperature has an impact on economy. Give the car has been released late in the year, and nationally we've had a pretty cold year, I will not be surprised as weather warms up and people have a few thousand miles on the car, they're going to be much closer to estimates; of course this will be highly dependent on your driving style and conditions. P.S. The Detailed Comparison Tab is the most interesting (IMHO)
  3. On the Ford website under Technology, it talks about the Sony HD audio system having 390 Watts. But the C-MAX with the Sony option only has 100 Watts? Is it really true?
  4. Thanks everyone! Look forward to continuing to gleen knowledge and experiences from the forum! JohnnOhio, lets hope its May, not July ;-)
  5. After 5 months of deliberation and against my Ford shop foreman buddy's recommendation, I placed my order this morning for the Hybrid SEL. He's seeing all the issues all of you have talked about on the Forums, (across the Ford line, not just C-MAX's though they have their specific issues) and recommended I wait for the 2014 model year, but I'm to impatient and really really want this car. I'm hoping by the build date they've figured out the big issues. Talking to the dealer this morning, he's saying Ford is currently holding deliveries. His guess is they're trying to address some issues. Regardless, the count down officially begins!! He said 12 to 16 weeks, so maybe a delivery date somewhere around Memorial Day. Now to go to my Zen state and be patient so my impulse nature doesn't run out and buy something off a lot somewhere :-) Thank for all of you who have been active in the forum sharing your experiences and enthusiasm; the forum is what has convinced me to "just go for it" as the problems, while some aren't fun, are not all the bad in the big big picture..think Toyota and glad we're not there :-)
  6. I'm going to be buying in the next 4 to 6 weeks, & the SEL with the 303A Package is the specific config I'm interested in. I'm hoping to get a current build date so it looks if I want a build newer than Dec 19, I need to order one.. Unless new shipments start arriving...
  7. Okay, I can be accused of a bit of an OCD Syndrom :-) I've been watching inventories across some of the NCAL and SCAL dealers. Specifically the Hybrid SEL with 303A Package. The only cars with build date after December 19th are dealer ordered cars. I'm wondering if Ford is holding a production run until a next revision, or for the 2014 models? Just curious if anyone has any insight into Fords production runs / schedules....(again this is a California perspective) In short, the Hybrid SEL inventories are dwindling....when are the inventories going to be refreshed? P.S. I couldn't attach the spreadsheet....
  8. Interestingly, the C-Maxs with the stone interior I've see thus far at the Caifirnia do not have darker trim around the seats. I saw photos here on he forum somewhere that had the darker trim and thought my eyes were playing tricks. All the stone interiors I've seen, have one color...Wondering is they're doing different Colors for different regions... http://www.frontierford.com/inventory-details/title/san-jose-ca-santa-clara-new-2013-ford-c-max-hybrid/vehicleid/510872813-00130306
  9. Thanks! I've been scanning inventories..-getting close to buying-- and was hoping to get a current build.. This really helps!
  10. Where do you find the build date / manufacture date when looking at the window sticker? At the top, middle do the sticker, I see a sequence that looks like 120120824 blend(under the last 4 digits) then a bolded 4 digit number. The VIN seems to only represent the model year. Suggestions? Thanks?
