  1. Ugh, no, 4pm. It is supposed to arrive at the dealer by 1, and they need about 3 hrs to prep. My dealer rep has been awesome. So just hoping for no surprises when it comes off the truck!!
  2. Ordered Feb 8th, built March 12th, delivery confirmed tomorrow 4/3
  3. Pins and needles! It should be here Today! Completed all the paperwork yesterday to take advantage of the rebates that expired last night, so I officially own the car! Now let's hope for no damage! Last week I found Hertz had C-Max's for rent here in Oakland. Rented one for the weekend and happy to say the car exceeded my expectations. Drove it for 300 miles across all conditions and averaged 40.5 mpg for the whole trip, which included city, extended high speed freeway (70 to 80 for 50 miles) and mountain roads. So impressed with the handling!! I've owned a lot of cars and have never been excited about a vehicle as this one!! Update after I have it...
  4. I've not seen any ads here in Northern California (SF Bay Area) either
  5. http://www.ford.com/incentives/ Select the Year, the Vehicle then your Zip code. There are various categories. In my case, I'm looking at the "Retail Offers" tab I do know rebates will vary by region.
  6. I have a bit of a delima and wondering if anyone has actual experience dealing with factory rebate offers. Ford recently updated the Factory Cash back (on retail purchases) to $1250. However, this offer expires April 1st. My car is supposed to be ready April 1st. My concern is if the car is delayed even a day, will the factory still honor the rebate, or, what is the potential of a better rebate after April 1st? I realize Ford does this to stimulate sales and move stuff off the lots, hence the disclaimer --take delivery from dealer stock by this date. But has anyone one experienced and leeway in these offers, and or a way to know what will happen after April 1st? Just curious.... Getting more anxious to MADCMAX to arrive!!
  7. Update: The train car just left Rawlins Wyoming. It's been fun watching the progress/travels since the car left the factory. Delivery date now estimated April 1st................
  8. Update! Dealer emailed me this morning, new delivery date estimated the 30th (was the 25th), but now I have a railcar #, oh boy now I can track it! The railcar arrived in Michigan today; this will be interesting to follow it.
  9. Mine was (supposedly) to be built on the 12th also! Twins? Let's hope Tuesday is a "good" day despite the weather! Delivery estimated the week of March 25th.....
  10. Thanks Rachel! As you well know, excitement tempered with patience. I cannot have imagined waiting as long as you did!!!!!!
  11. Okay, so I have not taken delivery just yet, but I just ordered the personalized plates with the cars name......MADCMAX...... (aka Mad Max) :) All variations of Mad Max were taken, including numbered variants, thus when I entered MADCMAX and it was available I could not believe it and placed the order immediately... Fun stuff. I'm really hoping the car will arrive the 25th or 26th --it was scheduled to be built today-- so I can drive from the SF Bay Area to SCAL (Temecula) on the 27th!...Hoping hoping it will be delivered and ready by then....If not, I'll fly..how boring...
  12. Build date is today! Projecting good karma to the factory....two more weeks, patience patience patience.
  13. Thanks Oakland. I'll see how it goes with San Leandro Ford. A good friend of mine knows the fleet manger there, and referred me. The experience dealing with him has been great. Just not so sure about the service yet. If needed to, I can use Walnut Creek as a back up. I appreciate the feedback.
  14. Are you in Oakland, Ca? What dealer did you buy from and how has the overall experience been. I've ordered my C-max from San Leandro Ford. Sales experience has been positive but have no clue about their service department..
  15. Thanks everyone, all great perspectives and very helpful. Consensus is if I plan to keep it 2 or 3 year, lease, if 5 to 7 years buy. I'm probably going to lease this one as I'm thinking only 2 years, then decide if I want to keep the car longer term, if so, I'll buy the next. I appreciate all the active participation in this forum and all the great input.
  16. I can second the opti-coat. Had it done on a car 5 years ago; super durable and the car looks just like it did when new. Regular washes is all I've done.
  17. Plus 3 Golfer, You may be right about the climate control system. In my mind, it was the only thing I could think of that would require a vacuum system in the car. However, a little research revealed the following: seems the brake system uses vacuum boost. Now talk about "old" technology!! :-) :-) http://media.ford.com/images/10031/2013_CMAXHybrid_Hero.pdf Item number 8..
  18. With the delivery date looming, I'm faced with the decision to either lease or buy. Just curious what others have done and what your situation is? A friend of my says since its a new (model) car with new technology, I should lease, that way in 2 years I just turn the car in. In two years a lot of issues will be worked out and the car may be a much better car by then, then get a newer model. Also I do have a history of replacing at least one of my vehicles within 2 to 4 years. On the other hand, I've lever leased, I've always bought, cost more initially, and if the value drops significantly, then hard to hold onto any equity. Any thoughts anyone has would be appreciated! :runaway:
  19. The climate control system runs off the vacuum system. When you change temperature, move from defrost to floor, to vent etc, all the doors and mechanisms in the climate control are vacuum actuated. If you "turn off" the climate control, all the door/flaps go to a closed position which consumes the vacuum reserves, which requires the pump to actuate either as the car is shutting down, or the next time you turn the car on. I have the exact same thing in my truck, it requires the vacuum pump since the diesel engine doesn't create enough vacuum to work the system, as a result there are times when I turn on the key and the pump starts immediately.
  20. Window Sticker Showed up today! :happy feet:  :yahoo: Build date March 12th! Getting more excited!
  21. Welcome to the Forum. There are a lot of very knowledgeable and helpful people here!
  22. I haven't met the required posts on the blue oval forum to have him check; so I'll keep checking until the build sheet shows up on the other site using the VIN. I had put the car out of my mind, but now I am getting excited again...I've forgotten what the test drives were like, I think I might go drive one again.......:-)
  23. Aren't there rear heater vents under the front seats for the rear passengers in addition to the rear vents on the console? When I was looking at the C-Max's I think I saw heater vents...?
