  1. Model: C-Max Hybrid SEL Ordered at dealer: March 30, 2013 Dealer placed order with factory: April 9, 2013 Promised Delivery time: 4 to 6 Weeks (Shortened delivery time because dealer said they already had an SEL on allocation and they would change that car to match my order) Car manufactured: May 2, 2013 Actual Delivery Date: May 21, 2013 State: IL
  2. Does anyone know how to change the name of the paired phone in MFT? For example, my Galaxy S4 shows up on the screen as some alphanumeric designation like "XYZ-1234". Instead, I want it to have a less cryptic description like "Bob's iPhone" or something like that.
  3. After 6 weeks of waiting I finally picked up my car this week. After all the research it is still overwhelming at everything this car can do.
  4. Lets just remember that not everyone can afford to get rid of their present vehicle and buy a brand new hybrid. Some have to keep the car they have for as long as they can. I know it wasn't the intent of the post but we shouldn't want to wish higher gas prices on others. I have seen too much of that attitude on the Prius forum.
  5. 2013 C-Max SEL w/ 302A on X-Plan Fuel charge: $54.60 Adv. Assesment: $480.00
  6. I also just got the Galaxy S4. My car isn't arriving for another week or two so I can't try this out but it is concerning. Which version of MFT do you have? 3.1.3 or 3.5.1?
  7. Just as a point of reference, here are the various plan prices for the car that I ordered last month: SEL, 302A, only buy-up options are paint color and panoramic sunroof. MSRP: $32,765.00 A-plan: $29,827.88 D-plan: $29,927.88 X-plan: $31,142.91 As I understand it, A-plan pricing is for Ford employees, D-plan is for family members of eligible employees, X-plan is for employees of partner companies as well as members of participating organizations.
  8. I've never had a navigation system and I understand that the maps are on a memory card. How do I confirm that I have the latest when I pick up my car?
  9. Is there anything that only the dealer can set or adjust?
  10. I'm confused. If 13-4-13 is supposed to be the fix for the dying 12v battery problem, and it only applies to cars with the 4.2" display, then what about the cars with the larger MFT display? What is the fix for the "big screen" models?
  11. If 13-4-7 is for all C-Max and 13-4-13 is for C-Max with the 4.2" displays, then how can 13-4-13 supersede 13-4-7? Are they not for differently equipped cars?
  12. Did anyone buy a C-Max that already had a subscription to Sirius satellite radio? If so, we're you able to transfer the subscription in addition to the six months free? Or did the transfer negate the six free months?
  13. When you say "full hybrid" I assume you are referring to the regular C-Max as opposed to the Energi. In that case the C-Max does not have the orange cables?
  14. The C-Max is assembled in Michigan. The engine is built in Mexico. 40% of the parts come from U.S.A./Canada. 25% of the parts come from Japan.
  15. Bad news! The car that was to come from another dealership was sold before I could reserve it. Now I have to order what I want. My dealer already has an allocation for an SEL so they are turning that into my order. Apparently that will make things a little faster but it will still be a multi-week wait. Since I'm placing a special order I changed the color to Blue Candy.
  16. Can someone post a photo of the positive and negative terminals under the hood? I have seen the positive one since it has a red plastic cap but I haven't seen the negative one.
  17. I will be picking up my new C-Max from the dealer this week. Is there anything I should remember to do before driving away? Any settings that should be reset? Any questions the dealer should answer? Any information that only the dealer can provide? Has anyone picked up their car and wished they remembered something before they left?
  18. After months of agonizing, research, and what-ifs, I finally bought a C-Max. Or rather put down a deposit on one that will come from another dealership. SEL Ruby Red Exterior Charcoal Interior 302A Package Panoramic Sunroof Looking forward to putting to use what I've been able to glean on this site.
  19. It looks like that TSB does not apply to MyFordTouch vehicles.
  20. I have been looking forward to the C-Max ever since it has been announced. Now that they are showing up at local dealers I am ready to buy. But the reports of discharged 12v batteries are concerning. I rely on my car to start and operate on demand. I don't have the luxury of waiting around for someone to power up the 12v electrics if the car won't start. The long term solution is certainly Ford's responsibility but I am looking for possible actions that can either monitor the battery voltage or keep it from over discharging. In other words, is there anything I can do to head off being stranded when I go out to my car in the morning to go to work? For example, should I be monitoring the battery voltage every time I park? If so, what is the acceptable low-end for being able to start the electrical system? Does anyone know how quickly the battery goes from fully charged to that low-end state? Should I charge the battery from an external source periodically? I would appreciate any comments from those of you who have tinkered with this problem.
  21. In the latest issue of "Mechanical Engineering" magazine there was an article by a couple of Ford engineers about hybrids. The focus was Ford's usage of wireless connectivity as a way to help keep hybrid vehicles operating efficiently. Ford recognizes that managing the battery and other functions are dependant on the vehicle driving patterns. They are trying to use wireless connections to transfer driving data back to computers to calculate and alter the car's parameters. This sounds like something similar to EV+ except that instead of the computation being done on board, it is done remotely. The article also talked about how the car can operate more efficiently if the battery charge and discharge cycles are managed based on vehicle usage.
  22. I can't believe you actually wrote that. Ha, ha, ha.
  23. In cases where the 12v battery has been discharged, I don't quite understand those of you that say you are "jump starting" the car. Conventional automobiles with dead batteries require a lot of current from another vehicle so that the starter motor can turn over the gasoline engine. That's what I consider jump starting. The C-Max doesn't utilize a normal starter motor. My understanding is that the 12v battery is just there to get the electronics going. If this battery has been depleted all that would be required would be to momentarily connect another 12v source in parallel to the dead battery and all the electronics should come back to life. Once that happens the battery gets recharged normally unless the battery cells are bad. Is this actually how you are getting back on the road?
