I too want to keep my C Max indeffinently. Will Ford continue to support with parts, computer updates, batteries, etc.?

Thanks, Paul. Does this start a new 4-year clock on the tire kit? Tom

Is there any problem with ignoring the warning to service the tire mobility kit notice or, better yet, turning it off? I carry a spare tire in my C max at all times so I don't expect to ever use the kit.

A factor in having a C-Max not go into EV mode quickly is the heater setting for the passenger compartment. If your temperture setting is at the high end, you ICE will have to run more often and stay on longer to achieve and keep the temperature you may have chosen. I run mine at 68 in cold weather and get in the high 30s mpg. Low to mid 40s in warmer weather even using AC a lot.

I bought Ford's ESP with my then new 2013 C-Max because the car seem so complicated to me that I was afraid not to have the "security blanket". My coverage included all standard services ie. oil changes, filters, tire rotation, etc. at no additional out of pocket cost to me. Seemed like a good deal. However, after 3 years my dealer informed me that I would have to start paying for my routine services.because the ESP would not. That is not the way I read policy. Any experience with this issue?

I have what I assume is water dripping from my exhaust system. I think this is caused by the C-Max being a hybrid and not creating enough heat to evaporate the water found in the gasoline as it burns. Therefore, Ford provided the weep holes so that the exhaust system doesn't rust.

I think that we are all faced with the replacement of the LI battery at some point down the road. Cost -- who knows?

The news of the evacuation of coastal Fla.,with so many people needing gasoline that the FHP had to escort tanker trucks, caused me to wounder if the current automotive interest in all electric cars isn't misplaced. Hybrid technology such as many C Max cars use, would allow for greater driving distance before the need to add gasoline making cars so equipped more desirable under such circumstances. Not sure about the clean air aspect between hybrid and total electric. Probably depends a great deal on how the electricity is produced.

Zathrus, Your solution worked like a charm! Thank you. Tom

My 2013 C-Max's manual lift gate will not unlock when the key fob buttons are pushed either for all four doors or the tail gate one. I can hear a click but no unlocking. If I push down on the door just below the rear window the tail gate unlocks. Took it to my dealer who could replicate the problem but no quick fix. Dealer wants to install a new lock at $500.00! A lot of money. Any thoughts?

Be sure that the door water drains are open. In the past, there were issues with lift gate doors not having the plastic covers on the water drains removed when the new cars were delivered to the buyers. May also apply to the doors?

I just had my dealer to replace my front windshield wipers. It seemed to be a tough job for the tech that did the work -- as I watched. So be careful about doing it yourself. My dealer installed them at no cost to me as I bought the blades from their parts counter.

Spare tire a good idea. I always carry one. Don't forget you will need a jack and lug wrench if you have to use your spare.

There is yet another factor that also clogs the weep holes: mold. I was washing my car yesterday after vacuuming the hood hinge boxes and found that one of the boxes was not draining. Turns out that mold had built up and dried in it and was blocking the water flow. Cleaned it out with a long screw driver and then a pipe cleaner

The part.

Dealer states that my problem, false door open alerts, is being caused by a defective door latch rplacement that was a Ford recall. New replacement being installed today.

I'm getting the door open alarm when the doors and tailgate are closed. Car at dealer now for fix. Anyone else experience this?

I have to agree as well. My only issue was the dead battery -- but, that seems to have been addressed as it hasn't reoccured in quite some time now. I really like the C-Max!

My 2013 C-Max SE had three battery failures. I've had all the recalls attended to by my dealer. So far, no new battery issues for what must be over a year now. So, I'm guessing and hoping it's fixed.

After owning a C-Max since 2012, I just discovered that the height of the cargo area is identical to my standard, hardware store wheel borrow! This means that I can unload bags of mulch, etc. directly into my wheel borrow and then move it to my garden. Check it out.

It seems to me that Ford can, and I assume does, read this forum to stay abreast of customer satisfaction.
