  1. Remote car starter not really needed for a fuel injected engine; block or interior heater on a timer is better. Read this.
  2. I live in Canada and that option (Vehicle Health Report) is not available to me. I did try though ( :) ) but that voice command is not recognized. I was told by Rebecca (Ford IVT rep) that it would have to be done at the dealer when I bring it in for the next service interval.
  3. ....that and the fact that it is really a four seater.... I couldn't get past that thing in the middle of the back seat. Oh, and I just gotta have a hatchback! Not ready for a sedan yet!
  4. Still doesn't work. My browser automatically substitutes Amazon.ca.... Wasn't really interested in the hat; only wanted to point out what, for me, was a bad link.
  5. Can't do a Vehicle Health Report Rebecca. I live in the wrong country! See below. Guess it will have to wait until the next service interval. Vehicle Health Report is not available for your vehicle.Vehicle Health Report varies by trim level and model year and is available in certain SYNC-equipped vehicles purchased in the United States. If you are a US vehicle owner and feel that you have received this message in error, please contact the Customer Relationship Center
  6. Automatic 5% discount at The Co-Operators (Canada).
  7. Just so the moderators and powers that be know, the banner linking to C-Max Hybrid Hats on sale does not work (or doesn't link to the correct page anyway).
  8. su I am insured with "The Co-Operators" in Canada and they offer 'en-Route / DriveSync' as the platform for their GPS tracking - I do get a discount. Think it was 15% last time I looked. I can log into the en-Route web site and see where my car has been, how it has been driven, how fast it went and also vehicle health. In fact, it reports that my car is 'overcharging' the battery (15 volts) and I should get it looked at.... I think this is normal for a hybrid and I'm not worried about it.
  9. This is where I'm stuck currently.... Chrome, Firefox, MS IE all fail the xml file upload. In addition to the Siri eyes and China destinations update items was there anything else added in ver 3.8?
  10. I had to download the Sync update file twice as the first time it appears to have been corrupted. Then did the update in the driveway so I could watch what was going on. Still having trouble to upload the 'confirm update' file to owner.ford.com but I've reported that on the 'Official Ford In-Vehicle Technology Rep' thread'.
  11. I was just affirming what others have said since it was my experience also - the first C-Max (not sure it was an SE or SEL) I wanted to test drive needed a boost to start and I knew it was the 12v lead acid battery that was being boosted. The C-Max is still a novelty for Ford dealers where I live and in fact it is a novelty for most people I know - when I tell them I have a Ford C-Max they give me THAT look (whaaaa?). They tend to sit on the lot for a while. The dealers here may be under suffering from this syndrome.
  12. Whitney: The installation of the Sync update went fine. It was updating (confirming) the Sync update on owner.ford.com that failed. I've tried all three browsers and MS IE gets me the furthest in the process but the upload does not go through (unresponsive after I click the 'upload log file and finish' button - nothing happens after that).
  13. New owner here of a used 2013 C-Max. I registered on Owner.Ford.Com and downloaded the latest Sync update and have successfully installed it :) (only one hickup requiring a re-download as the first one may have been corrupted). I have tried to upload the file created by the install process to update the profile for my car, but the upload fails (tried using MS Explorer and Firefox). Is there a work-a-round or is there something I am missing? thanks
  14. Picked up my used one on the same day as you! It's a 2013 SEL (red). First time I owned a car with the keyless fob - first thing I did was plunk myself down in the seat and punch the start button. The lights came on but no movement when I put it into reverse! How embarrassing! The dealer had to come over and tell me to push the start button off again, then on again WHILE stepping on the brake. Important that.... One thing for sure, it really has changed the way I drive. Much more calmly and that is a good thing.
  15. Resetting the old data was one of the first things I did when I got my used C-Max. Re the first experience at the dealer, to test drive my first C-Max we had the same problem (dead battery). They has to boost it first (not impressed) but it didn't have to run for very long and it went into electric mode as if it wasn't discharged very much. Didn't buy that one. I've been told that if the dealer doesn't start them at least once every 30 days, they will tend to run down and need a boost to start. Some dealers are not promoting their hybrids very much or else customers are rare and far between.
  16. This is my first post on this site and I also am a new owner of a used 2013 C-Max SEL. Got it a few weeks ago on December 23, and am very happy with it so far. Got it with 27 K km and it is in pristine condition. I got the 'Weather Tech' slush mats for it - we have messy winters here and they fit perfectly. I'd hate to see some of the melt water drain into the rear under-floor storage compartment. Also bought new snow tires for it as they also make a huge difference in our climate. I chose the Kumho I'Zen KW31 as they were rated well but not expensive; they seem to be OK so far. I'm reading a lot of the posts on this site and will be eager to try out some of the gas saving tips once the weather warms up and we go on a longer trip. Great site though! Full of useful info. This was also my first Ford since I learned to drive many years ago; I've owned 3 Subaru's before this (all with manual transmission) so this automatic is taking some getting used to. Loving all the tech too. cheers,
