  1. I ordered a shirt about 2 weeks ago... nothing so far. ???
  2. For real-time in-car OBD monitoring, I have an Ultraguage that works well and is inexpensive.
  3. The upgrade file (ver 2.2) was listed on the Ford Fusion Hybrid site for a while, but is gone now. It is not an official version, but it certainly works. Ford must be working through some sort of bug, as they were supposed to release the upgrade by the end of 2016. Not sure what the issue is, nor are they saying!
  4. SOC = State Of Charge WT = Water Temperature ??
  5. Nice write-up. Impressive that the Ford design can still hold up to a couple of newer designs.
  6. Only plug in hybrids qualify for a federal tax rebate
  7. Are you not considering a 2017 C-Max? If not, why? The 2017 C-MAX has a power passenger seat, Car Play/Android Auto, Blind Spot monitoring, Xenon Headlights and all of the bugs worked out. I do agree with you about the RAV4 Hybrid BTW.
  8. The battery compartment vents out through the back of the cabin and there is a fan and some switch gear in there so I can see where noise could emanate from that location. I have not noticed the noise you describe in my '16 hybrid. I can only hear the engine start when transferring from EV to ICE mode.
  9. No such noise on my '16! Take the dealer for a drive in your car, and then in another C-Max they have on the lot to prove it is not normal.
  10. Check to be sure that the green "ready to drive" light is on after you step on the brake and push the start button. If not, you may have not pressed hard enough on the brake or did not allow enough time between when you stepped on the brake and then pushed the start button. I have had this happen to me in the first week or so of ownership as I was not used to the startup sequence.
  11. The file to upgrade to Sync3 ver 2.2 is over on the Ford Sync Forum. I was successful doing this yesterday. Took about 20 minutes to load, and you then need to shut the car down and restart. It then took another 15 minutes to reload the navigation map. All good so far. You will need to buy a $63 updated USB hub from Ford if you want to use Apple Carplay (as it requires the iPhone to be plugged in) Android works via BT, but you do have to turn it on in the Sync 3 menu. Looks like Ford removed the files... sorry! Download Links (Ford Direct) Navigation Equipped: Non-Nav:
  12. I just turned in 2 VW diesels. The C-Max is getting pretty much the same average mileage as our '13 Passat except it is much better in the city and worse on the highway. Way less drama with servicing, and parts are significantly cheaper.
  13. Let us know exactly how you expect us to help and I am sure a few of us will step up. BTW our C-Max, with about 3k miles on it, is averaging over 40 mpg driving it about as "casual" as you could. (i.e. without regard to maximizing mileage) This includes 80 mph runs on I-10.
  14. Well, Sirius (for music) is worth $0/mo to me. They will give you a 6 month trial for $30.
  15. I have fixed the issue I was having with Chrome and the Ford Owner site. Turned out to be a bad cookie. Thx!
  16. I think they should have incorporated a light sensor that would prevent the door from coming down if the path is obstructed. You know, like garage door openers have worked for the last 20 years...
  17. Is anyone having difficulties accessing the Ford owner link using the Chrome browser? I can only seem to get to the site using Microsoft Edge browser (ugh!)
  18. My Sync 3 is at version 1.0 (GB5T-14G381-AN) and it tells me this is the latest version. Are you sure about yours being at version 2.2?
  19. I went to Barrett-Jackson today and got to drive the Chevy Bolt (short drive however). Not a bad driving experience but this is what I came away with: Pros: 230+ mile range11" center console displayLeg room & Head roomTurning radiusHandlingQuietCons: Price (Ok not that bad as you most likely, depending on your income, will get $7500 back from the Gov't)Seats are narrowBody is narrowSeats may be too firm for some (but were Ok for me)Luggage space is smallLack of extensive instrument panel customizationLack of charging stationsAvailability (not available in all states just yet)Funky feeling brakes
  20. Yeah, that is bad. I also heard my car locking/unlocking as I sprayed water on it to wash it. I guess it thought it was my hand on the door handle. The technology is not perfect.
