  1. I’m leaning towards the DIY route now, but not sure if I should proceed with the HJ5T - 14G087 - UM
  2. I’ve been holding an HJ5T - 14G087 - UM modem for 18 months now for my 2016 C-Max Energi, dealer still refuses to attempt an install and update. Is this part still a good part? The J-K mentions are making me wonder if I need to push to return the part and get a newer version along with the actual hardware update. Also, Ford customer service told me today that CSP 21B09 was extended until the end of July 2023, so you might want to get your vehicle in if you’ve been holding off.
  3. Not sure if the OP has found resolution. Check this CSP update out: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2022/MC-10216851-0001.pdf I have a 2016 C-max Energi that I bought the 4G modem kit in Jan. 2022 (18 months ago) and the service center still refuses to install it. My car does not have any noticeable battery drain unless I sit with the accessory power on for a long time. That will drain the 12v. The work around is to turn the car all the way on (pressing the brake when turning it on) to engage the high voltage pack. That keeps the 12 v charging even while sitting. The car still drives fine without the still installed 3G TCU functioning. After having the car sit so long unused I would make sure the 12v battery is not completely dead. I would also ask the service center if there is a way to query the status of the high voltage cells. First thing I’d do at home is charge the car. Then I would keep driving it and keep bugging Ford and the service center about the CSP.
  4. It’s similar to what I gleaned from my local dealership; car(s) waiting, inoperative update, won’t take my 2016 C-Max since they are still struggling. It’s now been 17 months that I’ve had the part I had to purchase since I missed the cutoff by months. I grilled them softly to try to deduce if they were just repeating old tribal knowledge or actively working on the issue. Sounded like they do have a recent failure they are struggling with. They all seemed *tired and depressed*. I came away pissed, again. Meanwhile I added a 2017 Chevy Volt to my family’s fleet. Overall I like Ford’s design choices better, though the 18 kWh battery on the Volt is nice. I will revive my support ticket with Ford, call other service centers again, and look seriously at the DIY route. I still like my C-max, but hate Ford’s handling of this issue.
  5. The main thing should be Apple Carplay and Android Auto. On my 2016 the latest update enabled the Go-times scheduling, though I'm still testing to see if they actually work. The mobile apps were not working, it appears they may be now though I haven't tested and am primarily focused on getting Carplay to work. Another nice change is the clock is now visible along the top of most screens.
  6. I just bought a 2016 C-Max Energi and see there are controls for MyKey at myfordmobile.com and in the myfordmobile app. I wonder if you can fix your problem using those.
