  1. Very nice, but not cheap. I plan to do cross country driving during the summers. So, I have to do something beyond Ford, AAA, and GEICO. As you can see, I am just a little concerned about this. :)
  2. We have the kind of AC that uses Freon?
  3. Possibly, they are laying low to give some time after the MPG reduction, since they made a good portion of the commercials about the 47/47/47. Also, it is possible that they are just waiting for the 2014 to come out before starting up with an ad campaign. Maybe each factor had something to do with it.
  4. 512.3 Miles55.2 MPG9.26 Gallons Used As the weather starts to cool down in South Florida, I can finally make at least some runs without always using the air conditioner. This tank is with about 75 percent non-AC miles.
  5. Up at least 15 cents for regular, here.
  6. As long as I don't try to top off the tank, the two are pretty close. I usually fill at the same place with real gas, Costco, which is pretty good about servicing their equipment.
  7. I've had a previous vehicle with Sirius, and it sounded great. Sirius sounds terrible in the C-MAX. Even the talk stations sound like AM on a not-so-great day. Cell phones have advanced to the point where I can get all the podcasts I could ever want, music exactly as I wish, and even unabridged books of any kind, each for a fair price that just doesn't seem to justify spending even the cheapie Sirius subscription. It was great when I used to have it, but I think that I have moved on. My free trial was supposed to end November 28, but I'll get the freebie until it's done on December 3. I'll miss some of the news and events related shows, but not enough to pay for it.
  8. I am streaming via Bluetooth from an Android phone. I remember trying to connect via USB, back when I first got my C-MAX, and that wouldn't work.
  9. Let's hope it was a one time thing. :worship:
  10. I often have a problem where it says that I have reached a file or size limit, something to that effect. I can't remember what I did for a fix. The alternative is to create an album, but that is a pain when all that you have in mind is to post a single pic or two. I hate this issue!
  11. Are you saying that you have had insufficient time to determine the answer, and that you will resume testing after the weather changes for the warmer?
  12. I didn't know that, either. Man, I have a trip up north next June, and I wanted to do it before then. No way will I take the risk, if it's not street legal.
  13. You got the C-MAX for a reason. Use it and enjoy it! :shift:
  14. Sounds pretty like as I remember it: mostly SE and earlier builds. Mostly resolved between battery swaps and software.
  15. I have had excellent success with MFT. However, I believe that I made my purchase just after the problems had been resolved. So, it came with 3.5 already installed. Before the 3.6 update, the only problem with I had was the NAV reboot. However, that only happened after I arrived at my destination and shut down. So, although it was disturbing and caused a lack of confidence, I never had any actual problem when in use. About the voice commands, let me say two things. First, don't start purposefully over-enunciating. Just speak in normal conversational level volume, and speak as you would during a conversation that you would have with someone seated next to you. Believe it or not, overdoing it will be more of a problem than just speaking normally. Second, I made it my business to start learning the commands and doing as much as possible by voice, from day one. If nothing else, I found the very most essential commands, and I started by memorizing those. I used the commands every time, even if I had to work step-by-step through input of the street address. Eventually, as I memorized the core commands, they became second nature. So, I next learned a few more, and I then added those to the memorized list. Some examples: I don't love the Home Screen on MFT. (It would be a great upgrade to allow the screen to show the last screen before shutdown rather than always going to the Home Screen.) Command: SHOW MAP I need to go someplace. Command: NAVIGATION, DESTINATION, STREET ADDRESS or POI Okay, I will admit that MFT can get the street address wrong. Fix it by voice. Command: CHANGE SOMETHING Just look at the screen, and call whatever you are changing the same thing as on the screen. You don't even have to memorize such a deep command. Warning: this is about as complex as it gets. So, be patient, and don't give up on this--no matter how tempted you are to just resort to using the touch screen. BTW, you can input information while on the move, unlike doing it by the touch screen. Advantage: voice commands! Listen to music. Command: AUDIO ON, BLUETOOTH AUDIO or NAME OF SIRIUS STATION or AM/FM STATION NUMBER, PLAY (STOP, NEXT) Make a call. Command: CALL JOE SMITH AT HOME or AT WORK/OFFICE (both commands seem to work) or ON CELL Climate is pretty basic stuff. Command: TEMPERATURE 73 DEGREES If you just memorize the above, you are pretty much set for typical operations that you will be doing all of the time. The only thing that you would have to add to the list would be something that is unique to your drives or style that you also do all of the time. You don't have to memorize the extremely infrequent commands. MFT is like learning a foreign language. You start off with difficulty, and then you get competent by practicing. Once you have it, you have it. Even my friend that went on a 2,000+ mile road trip with me was able to learn the NAV and other commands for his share of the driving. So, it can be done. Don't give up!
  16. Congrats on the Energi. Question: Where are you going to fit all of the items that you had inside before? As it was, you needed the hitch mounted tray in the rear. EDIT: Ooohhh, I see, you added a new one to the family. I thought that you were talking about trading in.
  17. Which color did you select? I like either the 5,000K or 6,000K colors. I don't care about how it looks to others; I am interested in having the best night vision possible. Regarding the harness, is that the $22 item for "Vehicle Application?" How much would an installer charge for something like this job? Otherwise, where can I find the step by step directions? I am fine with tools, but I don't know anything about cars or electronics. Also, I understand that this is a pretty tight fit. Doing this won't void the warranty? I purchased the Extended Warranty. So, I am not looking for issues, should I ever need to use it.
  18. How much does this kind of upgrade cost? I would really like to do this, but I am not auto-mechanically inclined. Could I do a job like this myself? If anyone would put up the step by step directions, I would go for this option, if I can afford it. :spend:
