  1. My C-MAX arrived end of May. FedEx envelope was dated September 26. Southeast. Not sure if that helps.
  2. Too late. I already cashed it today. So, I guess I am stuck! :spend:
  3. I already miss it. With all that I have had to do since arriving back home, it feels like NC was a long time ago. Looking forward to my trip to New Hampshire in June 2014.
  4. I just completed the survey, about a week ago.
  5. I don't see it on mine. This is the first I hear of this.
  6. For me, the best bang for the buck is setting the temp at 73F, Recirculate, and then I move the fan speed between 3 and 4 bars, depending on how hot it gets. I have tinting, Oxford White exterior and the tan interior, which all help to make it cool off pretty quickly.
  7. I don't anticipate that much of a difference. Being an air conditioner-aholic, it is a rare event for me to turn off the AC. So, while the AC will not have to work so hard, which I expect to help, it is not like I will be running only vented air from the outside. I'd be thrilled to hit 50+ mpg for city driving, which seems like a realistic goal.
  8. Ford had the dealer call me back to confirm that I re-ran the report without change. The dealer then gave me a phone number for vehicle technology. When I called them, they basically told me to bring the car to another dealer. Today, I went to Auto Nation Ford, in Miami Lakes. The Tech came out after doing the service. He said that I would need to re-run the VHR to verify that the issue is resolved. I ran it on my laptop, right at the dealership, and it was all clear. The Tech told me that the 13B07 update can sometimes cause this problem, and that he just re-set everything; nothing is broken or not functioning properly. Assuming that this fully resolves the problem, that's that. The whole thing took about an hour. Between 75+mph highway driving and all of the FE drops for service at the dealerships, my FE will be really bad for this tank. However, I am not going to  too much about it. Just glad not to have any issue with my new C-MAX. Now, if only my vanity plates would finally arrive. It's been about 12 weeks! :gaah:
  9. I hope that the 13B07 recalibration ends out helping everyone that lives where it gets cold. Living where it's warm, I expect to score my best fuel economy over the course of the winter. That's when the average temperature in daytime is just about 79F. Over the summer, it is always over 90F. So, while everyone else is getting their best numbers, that is probably when I score the worst in fuel economy.
  10. I still haven't put on many city miles since getting the 13b07 update. So, I can't really say how it has affected my numbers for city. I expect to start making local trips, now that I am back from vacation. I'll have numbers pretty soon.
  11. My gauge is pretty close to the fill pump reading. I can't say that the pump is more accurate than the C-MAX. It is very hot here, and there could be a lot of evaporation, etc. So, I just go by what the C-MAX says.
  12. For those that don't know, here's the reference.
  13. Do whatever pulse and glide you can on the way uphill. For example, speed limit of 45 mph, pulse up to 50, kick into EV for the very short distance that you can get but allowing slow down gradually, allow speed to go down to whatever you can safely get away with (maybe 40 or just under), and also running down the battery level. Then pulse again back to 50 and repeat. Make sure to try to crown the top of the hill (going into EV and bringing the battery as low as you can get as you coast over the top of the hill. If you are lucky, you will have the minimum battery level as you start the downhill run.
  14. The Works. 5,800 miles, but I have just been to the mountains and back.
  15. I had the 13B07 update done just before leaving for a 2,000+ mile road trip. Everything worked just fine. Just because, I decided to run a Vehicle Health Report while at the very end of the trip. Surprisingly, I actually got a warning the popped up, "Restraints & Driver Assistance: The diagnostics system was unable to read the current state of one or more components within this system. We recommend that an authorized service dealer perform a more rigorous diagnostic and visual inspection to ensure that nothing is wrong with the vehicle." I was already going to schedule The Works. So, I added this issue to the list, and I scheduled service at my closest Ford dealership. Up to now, I have been making the hour and a half drive up to Al Packer Ford--where I have had great service, including my 13B07 update--for service, but I just got back from a big drive, and ended out deciding to go to a local Ford dealership. I schedule my appointment online. Today, after waiting about an hour and a half in the service department of this dealership, my SA came out, saying that he needed to use my phone. So, we went out to my C-MAX, connected, and ran another vehicle report. At the end, the SA told me that everything checked out fine on their end, and that the issue could have been as simple as not getting a good signal from the VHR transmission. When he told me this, I informed the SA that I had run the report at least three separate times, in three separate places, and three separate days, always getting the same issue. When I started to discuss viewing the VHR that I had just run at the dealership, to see if the issue had been cured at the dealership, he then said that I should go home and call Ford about this, that the Synch people should take care of it. I am more than a little suspicious about whether this dealership knows what it is doing, given that I was at the dealership for basically just over the amount of time that it takes to perform The Works, and they basically said that there was nothing more for them to try. However, until I get to the end of what is about to come, I don't think that it would be right to mention their name, in case they really are in the right about this. So, there will likely be more to this story that I will report. I went home, read the VHR that had no change, and I called Ford. They are escalating the case, and said that someone will be back to me within four days to work to the conclusion of this matter. Frankly, I am inclined to believe that Al Packer Ford would have taken care of this on the first visit. However, I didn't think that this was such a C-MAX specific issue that it warranted making the drive. We'll see where this goes. Honestly, if I hadn't run this report, I never would have suspected that there is any kind of issue; my C-MAX is running great! I was hoping that it was something like a cable that somehow unplugged, and that I could knock it out in a quick visit that I was already going to have to make for The Works. I'll let everyone know what happens. I don't think that this is going to be a big deal.
  16. My C-MAX now has about 5,800+ miles on it. I just came back from a trip that involved a lot of mountain driving, Downhill Assist driving, and the like. So, I decided to do The Works. Just got back from the service. I asked my SA if the technician reset the monitor. I was told that it had been reset, but, just to make sure, I reset it again before leaving the dealership.
  17. I came very close to getting these. I decided to wait to see if there would be mods available for the 2013 model C-MAX that would allow upgrades to the aerodynamic features of the 2014. Apparently, this will not be the case (per the answer posted from the Twitter feed thread). So, I am going to take another look at these before making my next big road trip. Even with the discount from participating in the program, they get to be pretty pricey if you get them painted. So, I go back and forth about the idea.
  18. Bummer, about not being able to adapt the 2013 to the 2014 upgrades. Okay, bring on the aftermarket kits! :swear:
  19. I just finished driving the trip you describe. Went from Miami to the mountains of western North Carolina via I-75, passing Atlanta. On the way home, I went to Savannah, and then I took I-95 southbound back to Miami. I used Eco Cruise most of the way. I found that I was getting around 47 mpg at 65 mph, 45 mpg at 70 mph, 40 at 75 mph, 36 mpg at about 77 mph.
  20. They make a good product, but I went with the CanvasBack, because I wanted something that would work with the seatbacks either up or down.
  21. The ICE is not using fuel when on Downhill Assist. It merely provides resistance, preventing speed increase. It comes on when the battery is fully topped off. The engine turns due to the movement of the C-MAX, not due to combustion.
