  1. 62,000 miles and one bad injector replaced under warranty. Matt
  2. I am back to 100% stock on my car (no aero mods) and I am seeing 55 to 57 mpg for the entire tank. I was seeing 3 mpg better with aero mods. I have had over fourty 700 plus mile tanks. My lifetime mpg (including winters) is 49.5 mpg for 58,000 miles. Matt
  3. I have 57,000 of nearly all in town mileage on my car and I love it. I am having front strut plate bumping noises now when turning the wheel, though. But that is a front wheel drive car issue in general, not a cmax issue. Every fwd car I have owned has eventually made this sound. So, aside from that (which is no big deal to fix or even to live with) the car is stellar. Matt
  4. I am at 49.1mpg lifetime at 56,700 miles on my car. It is full of equipment for work and is driven in town and on the expressway. My car is worthless because of the enormous miles I put on it. So, resale does not bother me. I do understand other people's concern, though. I have had one injector go bad under warranty and my front strut plates are making tiny clunking when I spin the wheel (creaking upper plates). So, it has not been perfect. But I love this car at this point. Matt
  5. Since the accident, I have had the nose of the car totally stock. So far, my mpg is pretty much the same. My current talk is at 57.7mpg so far. That is my best tank yet. So I am confused about the aerodynamic mods at this point. I loved my car, though. It is perfect for me. We just bought a Fusion AWD turbo (Titanium edition). Phenominal car. Matt
  6. I feel the same way. I have 56,000 miles on my car and I have nothing left to prove. I love my car, but the honeymoon is over and I am in it for the long haul now. Matt
  7. I see 42 to 46mpg when driving 75mph. In town I see 55 to 57 mpg easily. Matt
  8. Ashley, Quick question for you to look into........ Would my C-Max wheels fit my Fusion (and vice-versa)? The reason I ask is, my tires are beginning to wear out on my Max (50,000 miles on it). By the end of summer, I will need to replace them. I was hoping to get new wheels and tires for it and keep these wheels for snow tires to install on the Fusion in the winter. Do the wheels have the correct offset and screw patern? If you could look into that for me, I would greatly appreciate it. Matt
  9. I have always gotten very high MPG with my Max. My lifetime MPG is 49 right now. It will be well over 50mpg once the weather warms up. The 33mpg I was mentioning is for the Fusion. :) My wife took the car up toi Minnessota yesterday (gone for 5 days) with the kids and a full complement of luggage. She drove into the wind, while increasing altitude, at over 70mph (through a snow storm) and arrived at 26mpg on the Fusion. That means she will be well over 30mpg on the ride home because of prevailing winds and drop in altitude. Great car! Oh, as I mentioned, she went through a snowstorm too. She said it was not as good in snow as her old Highlander. But that is because of tread style. She said it was plenty respectable in the snow. Also, before she left, I took the car out to see what it was capable of. Now, bear in mind, it is only 240hp. So, this is not really a sports car. However, with the AWD, if you time the turbo lag and computer calculations the car is making correctly when you run through a corner, it is a PHENOMINAL car to drive! There is a roughly 1/2 second (maybe less than that) delay when you get hard on the power before it really hits hard. But, if you time that properly, and get the power to hit right at the apex of the corner, the front/rear torque splitter begins working along with the left/right torque vectoring and the car just slingshots around corners........ Man, I love this car........ :) Matt
  10. Thanks. I have been able to achieve 33 mpg with some hypermiling. I love this car!
  11. Well, 0 to 60 is 6.5 seconds on the Fusion. So, it is not quite as fast. The handling is incredible though. Oh, the AWD cars are rare. Matt
  12. Hello All, Well, this morning I signed on another new Ford. So, at this point I have my 2013 C-Max and we are now the proud owners of a blue 2014 Fusion Titanium AWD turbo. My impression of the Fusion? Holy CRAP! This car is phenominal! The AWD is even useful on the dry pavement for hard driving. This thing is a sports-car. It is quick, and it corners FAR better than I ever thought it could. And, with the all-wheel-drive, it does not under steer. If it starts to push, you just give it more throttle and the rear wheels bite and the car pivots around the corner. ---Very nice--- As for fuel economy, I drove it around for 40 miles of agressive driving and in town cruising and averaged 24.5mpg. That is way beyond the 22mpg in town EPA and that was with my agressive driving. Driving this thing cautiously should net an easy 26mpg in town and 33 on the highway. I bet I could see over 30mpg in town if I try. But, that is not the purpose of this car. It was meant to be fun and have enough room for the family. Mission accomplished. I will post pictures soon. Matt
  13. Awd does make a huge difference in the snow no matter what anyone says. It does not make getting stuck impossible. But it increases margin quite a bit.
  14. I agree about matching injectors. I have to consider replacing the others too...... So, Max is home. It feels soooooo good having it back! The body shop detailed the car. It even smells new again. There must have been a layer of grud blocking the new car smell. :) It is so good to be back to driving a high mileage car. 20 degrees and 49.3mpg on my 30 miles of errands today. Gotta love this car. :) Oh, we are now shopping for a car for my wife. She needs all wheel drive (she does a huge amount of snow driving). So, we are considering an Escape or possibly a Subaru. We shall see. We will be shopping for her car this month. Matt
  15. Actually the best mileage is had by always accelerating with the engine and cruising in ev. I would rather disable ev+ than encourage it. Matt
  16. I completely agree. The frustration I am experiencing is not related to Ford, or my car, per-se. It is frustration with the situation. I have been without my car for nearly a month and a half and it is getting old waiting. That being said, I know it is not going to be forever reliable. At 44,000 miles per year, this car will, indeed, have problems from time to time. The timing is what is annoying, first this issue, then the accident, then after 5 weeks of waiting for the accident to get fixed I finally get to correct the rough running, only to have the dealer take far longer than quoted. Oh, which reminds me, after the dealer has had my car for 3 days without being able to figure it out, they finally broke out the VOM and tested the #3 injector and found that "Bingo" that was, indeed, the problem! Geeze, I told them that when I brought the car in Friday........ Oh, well, this is life. This too shall pass. Matt
  17. Nope, it just came on completely by itself. The car began running rough and lost power, then the light came on. When I Googled the code it said "Bad #3 injector". It has also thrown 2 other codes. One was #1 cylinder misfire and one was a simple "Misfire" code. When I reset those, the only code that came back up after running was the #3 cylinder code. Anyway, the suspense is killing me. I shoud at least know what the problem is (and hopefully have it fixed) today. Matt
  18. This started the day before the accident. It runs rough all the time and mileage is 23mpg with this rough running. Matt
  19. Well, the car is done and now it is at the dealer to fix the rough running and check engine light. My Scanguage says it is a bad #2 injector. I dropped the car off on Friday (they were squeezing me in on an otherwise very busy schedule). They did not get to it until Saturday. They called and told me they could not diagnose it until they updated all the modules and their computer kept kicking them off. So, I told them to unplug the Scanguage. They called back and said that worked and they could now update the modules. Then they called and told me (after the updates) that the car was "Running EXTREMELY rough"..... Duh, that is why I brought it in! I was told that kind of rough running is not a bad injector. Now, I am not a mechanic, but YES it can. Google it, for crying out loud! Anyway, he told me it could even be something internal. I highly doubt that. For one thing there is no extrenal odd noises that would accompany an internal issue. Second, there are no codes being thrown that would suggest it. Lastly, a bad injector will cause exactly this problem according to the research I have done. But, in the end, they spent so much time updating the modules, they never did get to diagnosing my problem. So, now I am stuck through Monday without my car (or maybe longer). I am flying out of state Wednesday. I better have this thing back by then. I do not know, this is getting annoying. How many updates are required on a car anyway? I know this rough running issue is the first actual breakdown I have had in 48,000 miles. But, I have to admit, I am beginning to wonder about the long term reliability of this car. Maybe I am just getting worn out with this whole situation. After all, the 5 weeks I was without the car waiting for the rear end damage to be fixed had nothing to do with the build qualtiy or design of the car. But, this is horrible timing. First I am without my car for 5 weeks, now it is at the dealer and I am being told it has some funky issue. HUGE bummer! And this is my work car. I am fed up being without it and being forced to use other cars that are, in now way, useful for my purposes. That is the whole reason I bought a new car was so I did not have the constant repair thing like I had with all of the used cars I have driven for work........ Well, now that I have that major rant off my chest, maybe I can feel good about the car again. :) Sorry, Guys, just had to vent a bit....... I miss my car and I have a feeling I will have a tough time trusting it to serve me well after this. Matt
  20. Well, turns out I will be picking up my car today. It was supposed to be yesterday, but the shop manager said it was back in the paint booth because he was not pleased with the finish. He said there was a minor imperfection in one small spot, but it was enough that he was not comfortable letting the car out of the shop. So, they repainted it yesterday and said it needed a day to cure before I pick it up. So, end of the day today it gets picked up and driven to the dealer for the injector replacement. Sheesh, this is a time consuming process....... But, it should come together nicely and reward me with more smiles once finished and back on the road. :) Matt
  21. Well, I am supposed to be picking up the "Max" tomorrow. Then it is off to the dealer for the injector replacement. It has been gone so long it will feel like I am buying a new car again. :) Matt
  22. That is exactly how I mounted my dam. :-) I am very interested to see your calculated affect because mine was made in winter when the temp was too variable to test mpg. Matt
