  1. Welcome to the forum! I, too, have been owned by a C-MAX SEL for about 2 weeks and am soaking up the wealth of info on this board. Enjoy your new drive!
  2. Ditto again. Test drove an SE; bought an SEL and boy am I glad I did! I got used to the brakes in no time flat. I think the overall "grabbiness" that most people report when they first drive a Cmax is actually a good thing, as it trains you better to capture regen miles. At least that's my observation after 2 weeks of driving the CMAX. My old Subaru's brakes can suck it!
  3. Hey that's great! My VIN turns up the following two things-- Now what do I do to get these? "Outstanding Field Service Actions 13A01 - SYNC WITH MYFORD TOUCH - APPLICATION PERFORMANCE UPGRADE 13B06 - REAR GATE TRUNK MODULE REPROGRAM"
  4. You can find some C-MAXes for sale through cargurus.com. That is how I found my certified C-MAX SEL a few weeks ago, after waiting for a factory order for over 6 weeks. Some are new, some are used, and most are from dealerships. Sign up for daily emails, and pick the model/colors/trim etc you are after. They have an interesting tool that helps you understand if a car is overpriced or underpriced, too. One quick note: Don't assume that asking prices on cargurus.com are fixed. I was able to significantly negotiate the price of the vehicle I bought down from the asking price.Good luck!
  5. I took delivery of my (gently used) C-MAX SEL last week and went to get new plates from the DMT/DOT or wherever here in Illinois. I discovered that there is a law in Illinois that you have to display plates on both front and rear, but can't figure out where to hang the front one from. I don't see holes for a frame or anything, but I notice that many of you in this forum show the front plate hung in your profile photos. How do you do this to be legally compliant? Do you have to drill holes in the grill to accommodate this? (Please say no...) Any advice appreciated!
  6. How does one get the update? It is dealer installed only, or can an owner do this themselves? I have registered for syncmyride and saw nothing there about this. Sorry if this has been answered ad nauseum before on this board.
  7. I have not yet used a USB drive so I can't report same issue, but I notice that my C-MAX SEL/202A sound system defaults to an AM station I have never listened to on start up. I almost always listen to streaming BT from an iPhone 4s (grrr, can't get controls to work on MFT), but when I restart the vehicle even with the phone plugged in and play button started, it defaults to a random AM station. I can't seem to find an "autoplay" function for radio. Anyone else having this issue?
  8. Congrats, HPR, hope you love yours as much as I am loving mine (had it 2 weeks now and falling more in love every day!)
  9. Thanks for the reply, mtb. I wish I could get your process to work for me but I can't seem to. I have tried disconnecting bt and reconnecting, accessing bt from steering wheel, accessing from MFT, selecting media device settings from MFT manually and no dice. The song playing name on the MFT display just stays stuck without changing, nor do the touchscreen or tuning button controls work. While it's not critical, it does mean that I can only control the play using my hands through the phone itself, which completely defeats the purpose of hands-free streaming. Ugh. For this much technology, this thing should just work!
  10. The car was originally purchased in December 2012, which I think makes it pretty old, but the dealer who purchased it updated all the software. The short answer is I don't know how to figure that out yet! Thanks for the welcome-- I really love the Ruby Red as I'm sure you do, too!
  11. Well, okay it's reborn ;-) After 8 weeks post order, I got tired of waiting for delivery from a dealer for my C-MAX, and found a gently used one at another dealership that had even more options than I was willing to pay for new, but for the same price! Yes, that's right-- I'd ordered an SE, and ended up with an SEL for the same money on a vehicle that had 3500 miles on the odometer. So I'm a happy-happy-happy camper! And I'm so very glad I got the liftgate, which was the heavily advertised feature that drew me to the vehicle, but was unavailable on the SE. Not sure where on this forum to check, but am having trouble understanding how to get the song titles from the iPhone 4s to display on the entertainment dash. Can somebody point me to a quick link? I thought it may be in the Gracenotes database, but I turned that on and it still doesn't recognize artists or titles playing through my phone. I'm assuming this can b enabled. Can anyone point me to the right place to figure this out? Thanks in advance, and happy c-maxing to all!
  12. Does anybody know what current build leadtimes are running? I can't get the options I want on any local inventory, but I'm afraid my current vehicle can't hang on until I get a C-MAX built. Any suggestions for obtaining one out of existing inventory? (e.g., do larger dealers get bigger/better allocations?) Any help appreciated! Thanks.
