  1. I went from a 2010 Fusion hybrid to the C-Max and drive about the same way. The C-Max will run faster and much longer in EV than the Fusion plus it is fun to drive and has more luggage space.
  2. Not very loud at all, just a click. There have been a couple of times mine needed a second kick to open the first week I had the car but now it works ok. Yours might need an adjustment of some kind.
  3. I went out and tried mine. Locked the doors and it opened with one kick. Kicked again and it closed.
  4. This is best, get up to speed and use EV mode to maintain speed. I always drive trying to conserve the HVB charge as much as I can as it takes fuel to recharge unless you have down hill grades to recharge, regen braking also works great down hills. I know other drivers say "look at that old man riding his brakes". I also use gas if I need to increase speed and save the HVB for maintaining speed. On the 2010 Fusion hybrid it took a lot more attention to keep the HVB charged than on the C-Max. The C-Max's Lith-Ion battery holds the charges and charges much better than the Fusion. All this sounds like I am a "hypermiler" but I don't consider myself one. I try to go with the flow of traffic. I have some recent pictures of my fuel miliage in the thread on 60 mpg
  5. I don't consider myself a hypermiler but have driven hybrids over five years. First a 2007 Camry hybrid then a 2010 Fusion hybrid which was a great car but I needed more luggage space so I now have my C-Max SEL. A few shots of mpg. I did get over 60 in one and I was not holding up traffic, just going with the flow.
  6. I know we won't need this info for now but tells how to remove both the HVB and the 12 volt battery. http://www.elvsolutions.org/C-Max_Battery_Removal_Final.pdf
  7. I have no complaints. I think it is in learning to drive a hybrid, I had a Toyota Camry hybrid for three years and a Fusion hybrid for the last three and a half years. I just traded the Fusion for a C-Max last Friday (Nov. 9) and filled up with gas yesterday although I was only a little under half a tank. 377 miles and 8.055 gal. to fill which is 46.8 mpg and should improve with more miles on the car.. The average mpg is now at 47.3. I am not a hypermiler but drive with a soft foot on the gas. cgul
  8. Yes, I know the hybrid parts have a long warranty. But if one of the high tech electronic parts fail (which is unlikely, I know) it will cover the cost of the warranty. I have not had to use my extended warranty and hope I never but I know any repair will only cost $100. I doubt I will buy an extended warranty on my next new car but do not regret buying this one.
  9. I have a 2010 Fusion Hybrid which I bought 6/2/2009. It has been trouble free since one problem at 10000 miles when the HV battery had a problem. Ford replaced in and all is well as I now have over 50000 miles on it long term mileage is now on 44.6. I bought an extended warranty here http://andersonandkoch-ford-warranty.com/forms/form3_2010.php for $1020 (6 years $100 deductible) I just checked the same warranty for a C-Max is $1045. I am thinking about trading for a C-Max as there are two dealers close by that have one in stock like I would want. Don't know if I will buy another warranty for it not. cgul
