Post Your Life Time MPG's, Total Mi., EV mi., Regen mi. and Brake Score
cgul replied to ptjones's topic in Fuel Mileage
Here is mine. Sorry I don't post much but I do check forum often. Got my check today. I don't deserve it but will take it. Charles -
I returned home from a two week trip to the mountains and my FedEx envelope was laying at my front door right under the water runoff from the roof. It was very wet. I opened it and put the check under an air-conditioning vent for a day. It was wrinkled but seemed ok. I deposited in my bank yesterday with no problems.

I have had that problem many times but I just turn it off and restart and it goes the second time or as mentioned some times it will go the first time after a few seconds. After all the updates mine has not had any problems with this at all. Ready to go when I put in in reverse.

With just under 12,500 miles my lifetime average is 48.8. I did reset it at 600 miles so that average is for the last 11,900 miles. Bought car 11/2012. Brake score is 97%.
-
Mine too. So did my 2007 Camry hybrid and my 2010 Ford Fusion hybrid. I think my C-Max might not be as loud as the Fusion was. I just ignore it as the AC works very well
-
Adair, I doubt that it took. See if the regen miles reset to zero in the Lifetime Summary as the update resets it. Charles

Mine did the same thing no EV over 62. Talked to the service manager and will bring it in next Tuesday for a redo. I will print this and take it in when I go and see if maybe this is the problem. http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/7238-ford-fuel-efficiency-update-guinea-pig-testers/page-5?do=findComment&comment=61696

Ford to Offer Free Updates to Boost Hybrid Vehicle Efficiency
cgul replied to Hybrid dude's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
Mine is at the dealer now having all the updates done. The SA said they would try to finish them today. I sure hope so as I am driving an Altima, 2012 I guess. No room in the drivers seat at all and I bump my head every time I get in and out. I sure hope every thing works right when I get it back as I had very few minor problems before. The SA said this was the second one and the first one took 4 and a half hours but every thing went well and no problems. He also said they might have to order parts for the recall but about half the ones for the recall met specs and did not need any thing done so I could have another visit to the dealer. Charles -
Salsaguy, I keep mine in that range most of the time, 73 being the most used. Before the C-Max I had a 2010 Fusion Hybrid which was white with the tan interior and AC would hurt its mpg double what it does to the C-Max. When I got this sterling gray with black interior I thought it would be hard to cool so I had the windows tinted as dark as I could and be legal in Alabama. It must have helped a lot as the C-Max AC cools very well. I am not concerned about the small cost of running AC but do like to see high mpg numbers.

Adair, thanks for the good words. I have not had any updates done to my car yet so when I get them I might do better.

A neighbor across the street from my house must have thought; "drunk again, that idiot can't even find his own house." No I just wanted to be sure I had the 500 miles and took a longer way home but still came up a tenth short. I would have had 53 to 54 mpg but these 90 degree days and AC on 71 to 74 all the time hurts the mpg.

Jus I was about 85 miles from 500 when you started this and have just made it to 500. How did I get home exactly on 500? I was at 499.9 so I passed my house and turned around in a neighbor's driveway and was right when I pulled in my garage. Charles

I meant to mention that. It looked great as it just had a light golden brown color to it.
-
Adair, I put in the gallery it shows up in recent images. 607.3 miles 51.2 mpg 11.85 gal. Charles
-
I was not even trying for the 600 miles until I went to fill up yesterday. When I looked at my trip 1, I saw I only needed a few miles to be to 600 so I rode around a bit and then filled up. Charles

Haven't had mine back to the dealer yet. Trying to get up the nerve to trust them with the software updates. However I did change my oil yesterday. I used mobile1 EP and Ford oil filter. Total cost about $40 and and maybe an hour time. I had about 9,750 miles on the original oil. Dipstick still checked right on the full mark but the engine had just over 4100 miles run time. See attached.

Journey to 800+ Miles on a single tank in a C-Max Hybrid
cgul replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Fuel Mileage
Cgul..gas is around $4 in the valley. Ca pays more for everything in this whacked out state I took that price per gal. out of the air as it was easy to figure. Gas here in the state of poor folks (Alabama) is $3.11 at Sams so that makes running AC even less expensive. -
Journey to 800+ Miles on a single tank in a C-Max Hybrid
cgul replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Fuel Mileage
I run my AC all the time, when needed, set between 70 and 74. I get from 51 to 55 MPG on my trips. My lifetime average for 9,300 miles is 48.2 and climbing slowly since spring time. I also did not skimp on heat during the winter; bought the car November 2012. I have my windows tinted which makes the AC cool the car much quicker. With mileage 50 and above a few MPG's make very little change in cost. I figured 15,000 miles a year and gas cost at $3.50 and the savings of getting 65 MPG over getting 55 MPG in $2.83 per week. Well worth that. I understand big MPG numbers are fun to see and I drive to get mine as high as I can but I am not going to sweat (or freeze) trying to get them. Just my feelings, everyone has the right to do however they want. Charles -
Here is my 1000 + a few miles mpg.

On a quest for 47 mpg average. Who wants to join me?
cgul replied to C-Maxgo's topic in Fuel Mileage
Yes, I can do that. I reset lifetime at 600 miles a couple of weeks after I bought the car on 11/9/2012 so this covers the entire winter which is milder here in Alabama than up north. This is my third hybrid so I did know how to drive a hybrid when I bought it. I traded a 2010 Fusion hybrid in on the Cmax. For those worried about 10000 mile oil changes, notice the engine ran less than half the miles the car traveled which was 6617 miles since the reset. -
Me too! If they had only made the readouts brighter it would have helped. I have no problem at night. I did have my windows tinted and it helped very much with the glare but the dim parts still takes too much effort to see.

Weird fan noise from engine compartment at start up
cgul replied to dtorres's topic in General Discussion
It does have a brake vacuum pump for the power brakes. From the service manual: Excessive brake vacuum pump noise (above 70 dB) Brake vacuum pump bracket isolators Brake vacuum pump Verify the noise is from the brake vacuum pump. INSPECT the vacuum pump and vacuum pump bracket isolators. INSTALL new vacuum pump isolators or vacuum pump as necessary. -
I won't try to make the 600 mile club anymore as I don't care to carry spare gas for that. I just skipped filling the tank one week to see how much gas was in the tank when the low fuel warning came on.
